IPV3 vs Sigelei 150w

Alright so I've watched several review videos on the IPV3 and sigelei 150w and I just can't decide for the life of me which one I want.

A lot of people prefer the sigelei 150w for the solid design and magnet back, but the sigelei suffers from possible auto fire by an accidental finger slip when pushing the power button which can result in battery venting or worse.

And the people that prefer that IPV3 just prefer it because.... reasons? But everyone complains about the screws and lack of magnets, the springs being janky, and the touch fire button not working.

Any suggestions on which one to buy?
And what Ohms do you vape yours on?

I've already bought a Mutation X RDA to go with whichever one I buy.

I recently purchased a Sigelei 150W and I love it. I run two different tanks depending on what im doing. An orchid for everyday use @ .7ohms and 40 watts and a Dark horse @ .3ohms. I havent gone above 80watts with the dark horse yet. I have yet to have an issue with an auto fire on the Sigelei becuase I turn the system off by pressing the button 5 times before I put it in my pocket. Simple as that.

I love my Sigelei 150. Definitely a solid piece, especially compared to the IPV3 that sounds so janky. It usually has a Lemo on it, and the same Samsung 25R's that I run in everything now that VTC5's are hard to come by. I haven't heard about any autofire issues with it, but I always keep it locked anyway.

Much easier to just lock it, hold + and - together for a second

i use those in my vamo and my ipv mini.... no issues yet
my ipv3 has sony VTC4s only cause the store had them the day i got my ipv3

i like my ipv3 a lot. no issues with the springs for me yet. the touch sensor i don't really care about so works or not, its not an issue.
the screws can be a pain sometimes, but you get use to it. or you can get magnets and mod the box. i'm just going to stick with the screws for now has i haven't had issues with them

as for the ipv3 build Doge with .6 ohm 26g dual coil @50w

I bought these batteries
Amazon.com: 4 Efest Purple IMR 18650 2500mAh 35A 3.7v Rechargeable Flat Top Batteries: Electronics

^ I really would like some input on those batteries, I heard the eFest name has gone to ...., so should I just scrap those and buy difference ones? I'm wanting 30 or 35A batteries.

Believe those are just re-wrapped LG HE2 20a batteries - still decent batteries, but don't believe the 35a labeling. Think 35a is the max pulse output, while 20a is the max continuous output, which is the rating you should look for in high drain batteries.

Anyway, was just about to pull the trigger on a Sigelei 150 watt when I found another Sigelei vs IPV3 thread that mentioned Beyond Vape Smith Box Mod [bv-smi-box-mod] - $128.00 : Beyond Vape, Premium Vaporizers and E-Cigarettes

Looks like a re-worked IPV3 with some improvements. From the product page:

The Smith Box Mod is a special, limited edition collaboration with Pioneer4U and has several improvements over the iPV3 while maintaining the same price, so get yours while supplies last!

Smith Box Mod Improvements:

-A unique 510 connector heat sync design
-Larger power up, power down, and fire buttons
-Removal of extraneous top sensor
-Capped 9-volt charger port negates potential danger while charging with batteries in the device

Still doesn't use magnets for the door, but that and the small buttons are what turned me off to it in the first place. Now I can't decide!

Go with the IPV3...Do a magnet swap on the batt cover like I did on mine..
Running ,2 ohm build on it now with tons of vapor..buttons are not an issue...upgradable to 180 watts, but who in the hell Vapes at 180 watts? Lol..had it a week now and lovin'it!
Not to mention the iPV 3 uses the the proven SX330 chip while the Sigelei is using a new in house chip we don't know much about. I have an iPV 2S and love it.

I have the Sigelei 150W and I absolutely am happy with it. Does everything I have asked it to do without as much as a hiccup in the 2 weeks it has been in my hands. The chip inside is the SX330 V3s. Confimed with online chat with Sigelei AND with Yihi. Sigelei wants to call the chips their own for marketing reasons.
My buddy is soon to be on his 3rd iPV3. He's just waiting to get the 3rd one returned to him. First 2 had same problem. Just stopped firing. His problem with his iPV3's are what steered me towards the Sigelei. I'm glad he did.
IPV3 comes with a much longer warranty and it seems that is a good thing. :)

What was the ohm reading he was using when his IPV3 quit? This is the first report I've heard of one not firing and I'm curious as I own a IPV3...

You left out one important aspect of the Smith Mod. It's warrantied by Beyond Vape for a year, not Asmodus. That might not matter to you, but it does to me. There is a BV store in my town, that is what pushed me over to get the Smith. I'm very happy with it, the buttons are nice, it doesn't have that inoperable touch sensor or that star field on it. I'm very happy with it. I do wish it had magnets, but I could do that myself when it seems too onerous to take the screws out about every day and a half. :)

Or just get both i have the ivp3 i loved it the 2 weeks i could use it not that happy with the screws but not a deal breaker. My issue is while removing the batteries the soldering for one of the battery contacts broke i decided to just fix it myself instead of waiting at minimum 2 more weeks till i go home but ill buy a Siegelei 150w to use as a back up. I also have a mech if all else fails. As far as a build i have better luck working with 24 gauge so something like 10 wraps will do it theres not much more room for any thing else. With the update as long as it is .08 - 3.0 ohm your good. I think my doge was at like .6 and i had it up to 75 watts and perfored as good or better than my mutation x on a mech running .34 ohms.

I almost ordered a Smith mod but BV was asking $130 for it and considering I live in CA sales tax would've pushed it towards $150 + shipping..$160 total..I saved about $50 considering I got my IPV3 for $109, no sales tax and free shipping..buttons were not an issue and I installed magnets in the batt cover..
Best build I've tried so far is dual parallel 26g
at .21 ohms running at about 70 w.....it hits a lot better than the 12 wraps of 24g at .57 ohms I was using earlier in the dark horse..great mod that I can run just about anything I can throw at it....and dial in that perfect vape! Lol

I had the to make the same choice. I went with the Sigelei because there are so many more pros than cons. However the ONLY con I see in the Sigelei is a dangerous one. The button can get stuck if you slip your finger up or down while you are hitting it. Be aware and make sure to lock it by pressing both the plus and minus buttons before you put it away.

Beyond Vape does offer free shipping, fwiw.
FedEx only when I ordered my BCV BFM from them..and it wasn't free shipping.. .$272 total with CA tax..that was 8 months ago, but things might have changed by now..they didn't offer USPS either..

Ordered my Sigelei 150 last week from Amazon of all places. Only $99.98 with free shipping. After all this time with mechs I've decided to return to regulated after playing with my coworkers God Mod. Realizing it's obnoxious being forced to stay above 0.4 ohms with the crazy builds I love to tinker with I knew I had to avoid SMY. If you like to cloud chase, chain vape and keep your nic levels really low the screw on back is the deal breaker for the IPV3.

Great price, same electronics, STRONG magnetic back, sweet silicone case if you're hard on PVs, no doofy touch sensor that doesn't work. (I'm too OCD to ignore that) A body that doesn't look like it's been dropped on two corners. But looks are subjective so not really a pro to everyone.
