Hello,

Today I noticed my mod was overheating by itself in my pocket without firing. Even with the mod turned off overheating would occur until I took out the batteries. Then I noticed the screen wasn't working - when you initially first put the batteries in the logo will pop up but from there on the screen is blank. I can still turn the mod on and off by going off memory.

Any thoughts on what might be the problem?

Honestly it sounds like the board is damaged. Your best bet would be to contact the vendor you purchased it from if it is still under warranty to see if you can get it replaced or serviced. You could potentially use it based off of memory but I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT USE IT. My concern is that the device is overheating even when shut off. That is not normal behavior for that device and you risk potential battery failure, fire or, explosion over it. Simply not worth it...

Sounds like the whonky charging board has possibly claimed another IPV4. there is many reports and pics of these overheating and some catching fire even while turned off with batteries in them. I pulled the cover off and cut the charging board out before I even put batteries in mine when I first got it. Seeems like it may have started shorting against the 501 pin and fried the board at least partially.
