Totally new to the e-cig/vaping scene. Was recently given an IPV4S and have been googling around trying to find out more. Am now freaking out of my mind imagining exploding batteries. Can someone please advise the best battery I should get for the IPV4S, as well as the charger suitable for the batteries too.

Currently the set came with two ICR18650-26F samsung batteries and a universal charger. After some reading, I've got it in my mind that this thing is going to explode any moment.

Please help.

What I'm reading them batteries are a 5 amp continuous discharge. Not a lot of information on them though. I wouldn't use them though.

I'd say get some Sony VTC4's. 4 pcs Sony 18650VTC4
Charger, I use this and it works well Nitecore i2 battery charger
My next charger will be this Xtar VP4

Don't always assume that the batteries which come with your mod are the right batteries for the mod. Those Samsung ICR18650-26F batteries are the wrong batteries for vaping.

This battery guide will help you to decide which batteries you should use. You can't go wrong with authentic Sony VTC4's.

Bottom line is you need a safe chemistry, high drain battery. These will be IMR/hybrid batteries. What you now have are ICR chemistry (not high drain, and not safe chemistry).

Get the best charger that you can reasonably afford. The most popular and recommended brands are Pila, Xtar, Efest, and Nitecore (in no particular order). I recommend that you purchase your batteries and charger from a reputable e-cig battery source such as RTD Vapor, Orbtronics, or Illumn.

Sony VTC4s are the best batteries for your mod. They're the only ones that have the Amps to run it at full power with any resistance atomizer the mod supports.

Sony VTC4 batteries are 30A Continuous Drain batteries

Sony VTC5 batteries are only 20A Continuous Drain batteries.

Get the VTC4

Sony Vtc4, Vtc5
Samsung INR18650 25R
LG 18650 HE2/4

The above are all Member/Time proven reliable batteries for our use.
Orbtronic carries the Authentic VTC5 batteries $10.99ea.
The other choices are less expensive.

This is also a good source/low cost suppliers for some of the batteries crxess suggested and a pair come with a free case.

Sorry guys, forgot to mention that I'm using the Herakles Sub-Ohm tank with the IPV4S. Does that change anything in regards to the 3 recommended batteries above? The vtc4, samsung 25R, and LG HE2/4 still ok to use with the IPV4S & Herakles Sub-Ohm tank?
If you are going to be vaping above 75 watts I'd stick with a 30A CDR battery (Sony VTC4's).

You also need to marry your batteries.

1. Keep in pairs, use in pairs, charge in pairs.
2. Mark them 1A,1B, 2A, 2B etc.
3. Rotate them on the charger (i.e. 1st time -- 1A goes in slot 1, 1B goes in slot 2; 2nd time -- 1A goes in slot 2, 1B goes in slot 1.
4. It may be a good idea to rotate their position in your box mod as well.
