I give up analogs and took up vaping full time almost a month ago.
Within a couple of days I felt 100% better, breathing improved, more get up and go, improved taste and smell, nasal passages opened up more, plus many other benefits.

I've been vaping mainly fruit type juices (banana, strawberry, blackcurrant etc) all in 24mg nic. All are pre-mixed in 80pg/20vg.

However, about a week ago I did notice a small amount of blood when I blew my nose. This progressed to the point where now my sinuses feel a little tight, irritated and blocked (but the blockage doesn't feel as bad as when I used analogs).

I've mixed up some juice (which is just steeping) with more of a 50ag/50pg concentration to see if this will help.

I was wondering if the irritated sinuses sound like pg intolerance to anyone else and if it does, why has it taken so long (over 3 weeks) to show up. I'm not dehydrated - stepped up my fluid intake quite a bit. It's not hayfever - pollen count is low and I've never suffered from hayfever before (unlike my Wife and Son).

So, has anyone any other ideas that could possibly help or experience of pg intolerance starting up like this. I'd be grateful for any input. :)

I've had the exact same experience. After two month of vaping blod resin and irritated sinuses appeared. I suspected a sudden intolerance towards PG so I started vaping a less amount PG going from 80/20 mix to a 50/50 mix, and that seemed to help a bit.

To confirm my suspicion I vaped pure VG for three four days and the symptoms disappeared. The thing about vaping pure VG in its pure form is that it doesn't create the same thought hit and tasting pleasure as for a mix PG/VG so now I'm kinda keeping the intolerance at bay by doing less PG.

I've read about many people getting PG intolerance after starting vaping. Some doctors say that about 10% gets it because of the high numbers of "paraben" you are exposed to

To be honest I don't think nicotine at 24mg is the issue.
Before I started vaping, I smoked high strength cigarettes for nearly 30 years.
I did start vaping at 18mg, but the nicotine craving was too much. I've been using 24mg since day 3 of vaping. I'm not vaping as much now as when I first gave up the analogs.
Thanks for the input though. :)
It just seems strange that the sinus sensitivity has started only recently. :(

Thanks for replying Schneiderman.
I'm thinking it might be a slight pg intolerance myself.
Once the 50/50 mix has finished steeping I will give that a try, fingers crossed it will help.
Having the throat hit of pg doesn't worry me too much. I tend to enjoy the nicotine, flavour and experience of vaping more than the throat hit - if that makes sense :D

trouble1000, your nosebleeds may be a sympton of dehydration caused by PG/VG. Both are humectants.

Are you drinking lots of water? By water, I mean water. Just about every other liquid -- coffee, tea, soft drinks, beer, wine and hard liquor -- will dry you out also.

I had that problem until I just about doubled my water intake to close to a gallon per day. (That's a U.S. gallon -- 8 pints -- not an Imperial gallon!) The sinus blockage and nosebleeds went away in a couple of days.

Good chance it is the flavorings that are the culprits you are inhaling from what the flavors are you describe.. I would look to that first instead of vg or pg issues.. might be both,, flavorings give me fits... be careful what you are inhaling..

Thanks for the advice mostlyclassics & doots.
I have increased my water intake, but I will try upping it even more to see if that helps :D
I hope it's not the flavours doots, cos I really enjoy the fruit ones, I've got about 6 different ones that I swap and change throughout the day. I tried the tobacco flavours at first, but didn't really enjoy them.
But if more water and pg/vg mix don't help, I'll have a look at changing flavours.

I think I've found the solution :)
I do seem to have a mild pg intolerance.
I switched to a 50pg/50vg mix yesterday and my symptoms have been gradually going away.
Today my sinuses are almost back to normal. They are even getting back to how they felt before I started analogs (nearly 30 years ago).
I will keep on with the increased water intake too.
So thanks for the great advice from everyone that contributed, I'm off to do some more mixing.

I have the same issue and I have gone from 18MG 70PG/30VG mix to 16MG @50/50 and now 12 MG @50/50. I still have headaches and am currently taking antibiotics for my sinus infection, loratadine for 10 days plus got a steroid injection to calm down some of the swelling.

Did you find you have had to go down from the 50 PG to even less or you are fine now at the 50/50? I have been vaping since April after being a 1.5PAD smoker. My next step is to try some 100VG and 100PG to see if I can pin down the culprit of the headaches and stuffy sinuses (which I never had prior to vaping).
