Hey all,

This is my first post on this forum. Like a lot of you I decided to start vaping to give up analogs, so far so good. I bought an ego-c 1000mA kit the other day, and so far am loving it - just having a few things that I'm not sure about.

I used to smoke blue or gold analogs so before buying e-juice I looked up what strength was recommended so I got 16mg in a couple of flavours from heaven gifts buying their brand PG/VG mix juices in 3 flavours and a hangsen VG juice. These juices feel like they are 'burning' the back of my throat and feel really harsh and irritate it.

I have been keeping fairly well hydrated, and I also got a sampler juice with no nicotine when I bought my starter pack, when I vape this I don't get this irritating sensation in the back of my throat (mint slice, so amazing) I can also taste it was better.

Just wondering if it would be the nicotine levels are too high, or it may just take a couple of days to get used to my mouth and throat getting nicotine this way because I was reading the particles are quite a bit larger (10x) than that when you use an analog.

Also any favourite juice sites to buy from would be awesome!?

Day 2, analog free :)

hello and welcome

you didn't mention the RATIO 60/40 I found out the hard way I can't do PG
So I go 20%PG/80%VG seems a lot of people can get irritated by PG and get severe soar throat or worse

NIC is another - what I did is get some different nic levels and mix them around during the day till I got used to
and/or found what worked for me (settled on 24mg)

boy, THE QUESTION ! what juice and where, all I can say is cruise this site and choose what you think sounds cool,
get some SAMPLE PACKS, that way you can test flavors and the Company service shiping for cheap...

what I use

PV4

Good Luck HAPPY VAPING :)

Congrats on quitting cigarettes, and welcome to ECF.

It is common when people quit to get sore throat and mouth sores. No one really knows why. So that might be part of it.

PG adds throat hit and flavor, VG makes vapor clouds. If I use too much PG, after a short while it feels like I have something stuck in my throat and I can't stand the "fullness" of it. I use as little as necessary to get the flavor I want. As for nic level, I started with 18 mg just to keep me off cigarettes, but over time I have been able to go down to 12 mg. I DIY my own juice now, so really can't help you with a company that makes it. My advice on that would be to try as many samples as you can until you find out what type (tobacco, dessert, coffee, fruit etc) then narrow it down. And having done DIY, I can tell you the stuff is dirt cheap to make so you don't need to pay high prices for it either.

I wish you success in quitting smoking, and hope you find what works best for you.

Did you smoke menthols? I did, so the whole burning throat sensation was new to me. Turns out this is called throat hit and is desirable to a lot of vapers, but since I smoked menthols I was not aware of it. My first juice had way too much of a throat hit for me so I lowered my nic level and that helped. I also stuck with menthol and mint flavored juices to help with that. I like Pink Spot Vapors Frozen Lime Drop for a great vape that feels good on an irritated throat.

Also somewhere around here is a list of symptoms you can experience from quitting smoking. That could explain your sore throat too.

you didn't mention the RATIO

Thanks puf Zeppelin,

I am not sure on the ratio's as they do not say on the website or on the bottles - Seems a little dodgy now that I think about it.. This is an example of one of the ones I bought.

I am thinking of getting a sample pack from somewhere else, the site you sent me looks good!

The VG juice is noticeably thicker than the other three, and I still get the same effect on my throat.

Thanks V Summer1,

Just wondering when you say DIY - do you mean by the base and add flavouring yourself? Or do you mean buying the VG nicotine flavourless base and then mixing that with a flavour VG/PG mix? Any links that would help me on my way would be appreciated! :D

Hi Cmdebrecht,
I may of occasionally smoked menthol analogs, but only when a friend bummed me one - so I rarely smoked them. I have looked at the list of symptoms also.

I guess I just wasn't sure why with the nicotine free juice I got no saw throat and awesome flavour, and these other ones irritate my throat and I dont get near as much flavour, maybe its a combination of bad quality, cheap e-juice and the nicotine level is too high for me.
