Is 1.17-8 right?

Got brand new 18650s from a reputable supplier. I've used my nitecore d4 today. Stops charging at 4.2 but an hour later the 25rs were at 1.18 and my sony vtc4s were at 1.17. Is that ok for the batteries to be resting at? Will the charge deplete just as quick or will they stay at 1.18 & 1.17 respectively? Thanks

Something seems wrong with your charger. 1.17v is not a safe voltage for the cells to drop to. They should only be depleted to around 3v and that is with you using it. For the charger to deplete it, something is defiantly wrong.

1.17v? Are you sure you're reading that right? The battery would probably not even charge back up at that voltage much less fire. Something might be wrong with whatever you're using to read that voltage.

thanks @Scy123 Saying that, my dmm should be coming tomorrow so as of now I can only use the D4 to check the voltage and it says 1.17-18 I read on the candlepower forum that that is a normal resting charge for cells. Still not safe?

Are you sure it's not reading your ohms at 1.17-1.18? There is no way you'd be able to read voltage at 1.18v the mod wouldn't even light up.

EDIT: Just saw your reply, that makes more sense, it dropped 0.03v perfectly normal.

Yeah... I slight drop from 4.2v coming off the Charger to 4.17 ~ 4.18v at rest is Normal.

But if your Batteries drop to 1.17 ~ 1.18v, Run (Don't Walk) as Fast and as Far as you can from them. Because a Drop Like that would mean that the Electrons are leaking. And that would be Bad.

it's all the same as 4.2 when rounded off to 1 decimal place.

4.2 does not have the same meaning as 4.20 or 4.200
