to ecf and the wonderful world of DIY which let me tell ya it is more addictive than nicotine.

I have been mixing for almost a year but I have never personally added water to my mixes. If I did I would be sure to use distilled. Like if I was trying to think out some vg. I have been reading about adding saline solution to make the flavors pop. Alway something new to learn. There are lots of wonderful DIY threads on ecf and a real good place to start for information. Here is a site that I think has some good information. I used this calculator when I first got into mixing. I hate to admit but I have gotten to be quite a mixing sloth and just add drops from VapingZone gourmet and super concentrated line of flavorings to my unflavored nic juice. So easy it's hard to mess it up.

Good luck to you and have fun with it. There is always someone around here that can help you in any way. That is what makes ecf so special.

Well, I don't use 100% VG, I use 95% VG and 5% H2O. I don't use flavoring at all. I taste the sweetness of VG and the nicotine. I'm very particular about the nicotine I buy. Nicotine from different sources taste differently. VG does not carry flavors as well as PG so high percentage VG flavored juices require more flavoring than juices containing PG.

I use carto tanks and I have actually vaped 100% VG. That's just putting Glycerin USP straight from the bottle into a carto tank without flavoring, nicotine or anything else. It worked fine and had a sweet taste.

its fine and even great in small amounts. don't over do it. i run a max of %10 distilled water and no PG what so ever... sometimes. it does mute the flavor for a period of time. but the favor will come back with steeping. if your getting a nasty "fog machine" flavor (smells and tastes like a Halloween fog machine).. you are using way to much distilled water. distilled water will hurt the vapor production, but sometimes you need to thin out the e-liquid so it will wick fast enough to prevent dry hits. i have tried to vape raw 100% VG (USP good grade) and its dry its galore, because pure raw VG will not move through the wick fast enough. i did this is a 1.5 ohm dripping atomizer. 3 drops of distilled water to the 15 mL batch of pure raw vg was enough to getting it wicking well enough to prevent dry hits.

in a 50/50 VG/PG blend you should not need to use distilled water.

Do you get decent flavor on 100 VG?

I'll chime in on that one, my mixes are between 80-100% VG and I'm a flavor junkie. VG may not be as efficient at carrying flavor as PG but its not far behind. I don't change my flavoring % when mixing thinner juice and really haven't noticed that much difference. Huge differences in vapor production though.

I use distlled water in all my mixes now. 45/45/10 PG VG DW is my favorite. My flavor is clearer. I get better wicking performance because water has a lower boiling point.

I may try distilled water and no pg. There is pg in the flavor

I read the distilled water has better vapor production, but I would guess it just dilutes the flavor

Oh no; possibly at first; but when you add *just a little too much* water, there is a dramatic drop in clouds, flooding happens fast, and tank getting hot problems.

So far as I can tell, the amount of water to add is something like 5%, maybe 10%;
the dropoff point might be 15 to 20%;
too much water is just disastrous
