This one was my first RBA as well, and I can say its soooo easy to set up... it might take one or two wraps to get a feel for building a coil, but there's tons of threads on how to make coils and all that.
I'm currently running mine as my "taster" now, since I've gotten a few other RBAs since then, using a vertical coil in it with cotton. I just plug in some new cotton when I want to try a different DIY I'm steeping/ working on. Works great, and the flavor is ten times that of a carto or a clearo.
If you find that RBAs/ dripping aren't for you, then you're out $10-$15... if you find you LOVE it (like most of us do!) then you got a nice set up for the same price, and if you go the RBA route, you can rebuild it for pennies.
The only issue I can see with a disposable 510 atty is the chance you get a dead one. Happened to me on the first one I bought... was not a happy camper.
RBAs are basically a situation of you get what you put into them... You can control the resistance (to an extent.. if you're running a VV/VW mod like a VAMO or an EVIC, the coils won't fire under 1.2 ohms), and you can use different wicking materials. For me, so far, I love Cotton and XC-116, but for learning, silica is good and forgiving. Cotton has a minor learning curve, but nothing too overly bad (nowhere near as finicky as SS mesh), and also has the benefit of potentially already being available in your home. I lucked out and was able to snag some makeup pad rounds as well as some of our cotton balls.

If you like to tinker, they're awesome for that as well...(especially the genesis styles). IGO-L and the Bulldog (also known as phoenix) are great drippers, and both hold a fair amount of juice, and a relatively easy to set up... the IGO is a bit pricier, but its also a larger deck area to work in, so that might be worth it for you.
Hope this is helpful info and not overload!
