Is it a carto? Is it a clearo? Is it a dessert topping or a floor wax?

I started a thread in the cartomizer sub-forum in an effort to figure out if a "replacement cartomizer" I purchased was strangely wired. I hesitated to start the thread, in case it was something common I wasn't aware of and I didn't want to look clueless. The thread has since been moved to the clearomizer sub-forum. I feel better knowing a mod thinks it looks uncarto enough to move it to a different sub-forum.

ETA: It was moved back to cartomizers. (Thanks Unforeseen) Maybe there should be a "Thingy" sub-forum for unrecognizable gear.

Oh my, what a lousy carto.

But personally I feel there's plenty room for improvements for cartos for tank use. With the IBTanked I bough I got a couple of those dual coil cartos with no filler at all. And the little while it worked without a burnt taste it was awesome. No flooding at all, and no priming and such.
So I'd like to see something like that but a better solution for the coil/wick setup. That would be killer.

The only manufacturer I know of that makes cartos with those long, slotted holes and tank setups like that style is Sigelei. But at the same time, the innards of your particular carto don't look like the Sigelei cartos I have run across either. Which is too bad, because I would really like to find those "normal" Sigelei tank cartos. You definitely got floor wax-ed.

Yes, I've seen them before. CE2 for tanks. Somebodies effort to get a clearo in a cartotank. Thanks for the research:)

Thanks for the tip. I've seen CE2 for sale on sites, but I never paid any attention to them. For some reason I thought they only came in clear plastic. I dug a little deeper and found a review of a punched CE2 carto for a tank. The description is spot-on until it gets to the pictures of the inner workings. It doesn't look like the CE2 has any batting/filler in it, just a wick. CE2 Tank Cartomizer Review

I have Frankencartos (4 left).

ETA: The review said CE2 cartos are sold at MadVapes, so I checked their site. Looking closely at the hole, I don't see any batting, only a wick.

Well, I think you are now at the forefront of technology!:) Can you let us know how you like them?

From another place I saw that the batting may be like a tube of it wrapped around the wicks up where you can't see??

I like that they come in 2.0.

Lol, just saw THE OCELOT METHOD in your siggy. Great job. Would ECF allow you to link to it for others enjoyment?

I have another one that will die soon and I will cut it up and photograph the batting. I hate them! It read @ 2.6 ohms, but started to fry at 4.0 ohms. The draw was very tight too and the juice tastes weird, that why I cut it open. It appears it was the "sock" that was burning...

I can put a link in my signature, but the url is very long. I also learned that ECF doesn't allow ........ (the site where you can make smaller links) I filmed a video of it, but to was really boring. I'm going to try again when I have another spent carto.
