Is it just me or does iClear's just taste better with tobacco flavors?

So, new to vaping for about a month now and got myself an Aspire CE5 that came with an ego battery to start, then I went and bought the Nautilus Mini and upgrated my battery to the iTaste MVP. Love what Aspire does and the Nautilus Mini is great. Since the MVP came with 2 iClear 16's I loaded one of them up with other flavors.

So-far, I've noticed something quite clear to me. It seems that the iClear can reproduce very rich tobacco flavors that just don't cone through with my Aspire clearomisers. Whats the deal? I hate the iClear tanks. They leak, they gurgle if you fill them up to the line, they are messy. But they taste AWESOME. Other then that, I don't bother putting any other liquids in them. Aspire= flavored, iClear= tobacco.

Anyone else noticed this? Are there better tanks out there that can do this for me without being so leaky? Kanger?

Being that I've acquired a small collection of tanks, and now RDA's and RTA's. Coil resistance, power and wicking make a difference in all this. I have an I-Clear-S, B and X.1. I also use all kinds of flavors (about 40) I mix with Platinum Ice and Gold Standard (Totally Wicked). Over all I get the flavor I want regardless of what tank I use. As far as the I-Clear-S. That's a top coil long wick atty. Replacements from Myvaporstore. I like the way they work, but yes you are correct. After about 2 tanks you can't fill much more than 1.5 ml or they leak and gurgle . That's when I do an overnight soak in Everclear. Blow out and a quick burn off (don't over burn it). Just until it's clouding good. I screw it on a Evod battery outside the tank. Put it back in the tank, fill and vape. Good for about 1 more tank. The I-Clear B and X.1 work alot better though with the DBC and I've figured out how to do rebuilds on those doing a 1.3 ohm build , single coil, cotton wick. I also just lay one small piece of silica wick on top to fill that top gap to control the e-liquid flow. Works great.

Well it could be some difference in the coil/wick; or maybe the plastic of the tank.

oh- and the nautilus probably needs more power. it's either dual coil or the new bvc coil; if it's the new bvc coil then you have a different wick material than what's in the iclear.

My first vape was an ego/dtc tank/tobacco flavored juice. Loved it. Then I got an Evic and some T3 kanger tanks. And on and on.....
The tobacco flavor lost it's shine with the t3 tanks and then the carto refills began loosing their recipe so my favorite juice lost it's luster.
So the moral of the story is yes the type of tank, IMO, does definitely make a difference.
I vape my new ADVs in a Kayfun, now there's a difference.

I agree.

A top coil silica clearo is the best way to vape Tobacco flavors.

In fact, I use silica in a RDA if I want to vape Tobacco-type liquids.

Finally, that makes sense. The wick material is what i was thinking too. The to coil adds that warmer vape too so it tricks your mind even further into thinking you have a real smoke in your mouth or pipe. Love it with the Turkish tobacco from Halo

I have some iClear 30s clearos that came with various Innokin mods. Invariably I use a tobacco flavour mixed with coffee, vanilla or maybe strawberry for a little sweetness, and find those iClears give me good flavour and vapour even at low wattage. But because coil cleaning is such a pain with them and they lack air control I now vape almost entirely with Protanks. Maybe I've been lucky, but I've not had leaking issues with any type of clearo. Yet :)

There is definitely a noticeable difference between the two series of tanks. I currently run 2 Aspire Nautilus and 3 iClear 30s.

Nautilus - Get this turned in right and it gives the smoothest draw of any tank I have used, but it makes the flavors more subtle and dry tasting. I suggest this for STRONG flavours you are using as weaker ones seem bland and I have heard some people say it almost gets a "metal" taste to it.

iClear30s - Most reliable tank I have used. Coils seem to outlast any other tank I have tried. Never had a single leak, nor a broken piece from the couple times I have dropped them. The draw is quite stiff compared to most tanks, but I find it gives a really concentrated vapour cloud which makes the flavour really pop.

I have had many friends complain about the iclear30 that comes with MvP, I only had mine a couple days before my son jumped on it stripped the threads, and from the little I used it, the 30s is miles ahead.
