I think I'm jinxed as far as vaping is concerned. I've had issues with vendors, customs and gear from the get go. As a disclaimer I have to say that I don't normally have these kinds of problems with other bought items, so it doesn't fit into a "pattern".

So first off DHL won't clear my package at customs, neither will they forward the package to my city so I can self-clear. I had no choice but to ask the vendor to accept return of the package. Well that was a month ago and I'm still going back and forth with the vendor and DHL trying to clear up a simple return. Hair pulling at times!

Next, my Volt batteries don't always charge properly. So I've had a couple of occasions of surprise, surprise, you have no Volt to use! Today is one example, where I charged one battery last night, figuring I was good for this morning. But no, it didn't charge properly and now I have no ecig to use. I'm trying very hard to not open that emergency pack of smokes in the drawer. So I take one Volt battery out of the charger, take a few draws, and put it back in.

And why is it that two dead Volt batteries is such an issue? Because my brand new Infinity Pro completely died on me Friday night.

So far I've spent hundreds of dollars on gear, juices, tips, cartos, etc. Patiently waiting for things to arrive. And here I am with no ecig to use right now. Not to mention the dead cartos I've received and the chipped drip tip.

Sigh...

So what happened with the Infinity? It just stopped working? That is so odd. I had one for months and beat the hell out of it. The top cap even came off and there were wires hanging out. I hot-glued it back together and she still worked.

I suspect... it overheated or something and shorted out. I took too good draws and bam, it was toasty toast. I've gone through all the fixes I could with notcigs via email. Couldn't get the top cap off and even though I was careful (covered the metal) I then ended up with some minor scratches. I gave up. Has to go back. That'll be another month before I'll see it again.

Too bad cause I loved it...

I can tell you that Canada doesn't like to let stuff in from China, from everything Iv'e heard. (not being a Canadian citizen)
shop around in the US. China knows it too , I don't know why they still try. But on the other side of the coin, I can't legally get a Cuban cigar.
Tough luck on the Provari though. Iv'e heard so much hype on that thing.
You have had about the roughest start Iv'e heard of yet.
Easy to say, but try to hang in there.

No it wasn't from China. It was DHL figuring out that the vendor who uses them for shipping is an ecig company. So DHL no longer clears packages from that vendor.

And it isn't a Provari. It's an Infinity Pro (see Buzz Pro) from notcigs, who have a great reputation.

I want to hang in there, I love vaping, the cig I just had was disgusting

This is an open invitation to anyone in the GTA area. If you ever, EVER run out of ecigs/mods/juice etc and can't get anything immediately, PM me. I have spares, ALWAYS!!

I'll atleast get you setup and covered for until you can hook yourself back up. Do not resort to going back to analogs for something as simple as this.

This is NOT an April Fools joke. I am deadly serious about this offer. ;)

This may be a dumb question, but are there any good vendors IN Canada so you can avoid the customs problems?

Well they don't always have the gear you particularly want. So it's a gamble. You can order from outside Canada as long as you don't have juice in with the hardware you should be ok. Anyway there are a few threads already about this issue.

Oh definitely. We have great juice and some awesome hardware vendors. It's just that we don't have the cool Mod vendors you guys do, like notcigs and Reo, plus it takes GG stuff a bit longer to get to us.

Unfortunately a lot of our prices are artificially high because of the low amount of competition. People are hesitant to open up an ecig store, plus China orders are nicked away due to customs.

It happens to almost all newbies. It's just part of the learning curve. With every new decision you make, it will become more thought out. A week ago, I went to work with what I thought was a fully charged eGo battery & 2 filled Stardusts. I had a coffee on the way & when I reached for the PV the dreaded "3 blinks". I went the day with nothing - wasn't as bad as I had feared. Worst part - I have 2 brand new ego batts in my reserves.

Best advice - be prepared for days like those - these things have little to no quality control & will fail for different reasons. Have a backup for your backups. I have 4 ego batts for outside & a Provari with 4 batteries & 2 chargers for each type.

As for the custom's issue, other than keeping your purchases to this side of the border(where you can), it's going to be coin toss as to whether your shipment clears or not. Do some research & see if the masses have an issue with the vendor in question. Some US & oversea vendors seem to have more experience & know how to hide & provide the required info on declaration forms.

Good luck,

Yeah I'm gathering that. Besides the gear junkies, I now see why some people have so many ecigs. I have 3 sets of batteries for the IPro and am going to order more for the Volt. And a passthrough. And damn I didn't win that Mini Provari in the documentary draw :(.

Can't just run out to the 24hr variety store anymore...

Lesson learned, have plenty back-ups! Especially with my luck :).

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

I hear your pain. I have been without a PV since early last week and for a time I could have murdered a kitten for a couple of drags. But you know what? I didn't. I just kept busy and deliberately kept my mind free of angst and I am now just 12 hours away from getting reinforcements and renewed vaping bliss. Let me tell you the feeling of achievement is enormous! I am not entirely there just yet but I know one thing beyond any shadow of doubt now; I do not smoke anymore! But I do vape when I have 'em... :vapor:

Do yourself proud and toss the cigarettes away for good.

And way to go Dusty!
