I've been looking through the forums and I'm wondering if anyone else is sensing a feeling of defeat around here? Is it my imagination or is everyone expecting that ecigs are done for?

Maybe I'm naive, but I really am having a hard time believing that even if the Kennedy Bill passes as is - no amendments - with flying colors, that all of the great minds involved in this - from the conception of the idea to gathering nearly 10K of signatures on a petition to finding creative ways to enhance the ecig experience, that we won't find a way around it all. With the whole concept out of the bag, it's gonna be like herding cats to prevent people from finding a way around this nosense.

Did our drunken ancestors sit still for prohibition? Noooooooo - they made their own or went to a speakeasy. There's a restaurant in my town that was a speakeasy, and they'd sneak the booze in by boat on the small river that runs behind it. You can still go into the basement where those wild and crazy lawbreakers were getting up to no good.

I've been - stupidly -waiting until an ecigs become available locally b/c I hate to have to order online and wanted to see which brand I would someday be able to just hop in the car and go buy, but today I've decide
that isn't going to happen anytime soon, so I just ordered my first one. :D

Maybe it's an act of rebellion, but I'm calling it a leap of faith to have ordered one when the news all looks pretty grim.

Or maybe I'm an idiot :p

It's been like that forever, and is one reason why I rarely post any more. The odd thing is, the more people claim we're all doomed the more easily available e-cigs become. Work it out for yourself ;)

...go to a smoke shop in your town ...

I think that says it all - the shops that sell all kinds of paraphernalia for use with sustances that have never been legal. It will be truly unfortunate if e-cigs are banned and not available for mass consumption, but I don't think they will ever be impossible to get.

Well, if that's the case I'm going to stay optimistic and start crying doom doom!

Works for me :) Seriously, we'll probably end up with some more regulations and standards but that's not necessarily a bad thing. E-cigs aren't going away though, and anyone who claims that they are is simply scaremongering for the sake of it.

Theyre not going anywhere. You cannot deny the benefits and neither can the FDA or anyone else for that matter. The biggest issue, for the government at least, is trying to figure out how they can profit from them. In the end, it all comes down to profits. Which is why analogs, that kill millions, are still legal.
