I think conscientious business owners are a dying breed. Those of us late 40s plus probably notice this the most. Fortunately I've had good experiences with the vendors I use.
Not everyone is as particular as Rob.
Being a perfectionist is both a blessing and a curse. Everything that goes out the door must be right, but if for any reason it isn't, then a perfectionist will mentally beat them self up. When a vendor can't follow clear instructions on a purchase order, it really eats at a perfectionist. They simply don't understand why others can't make it right ... the first time.
These companies that can't make it right the first time, where do they find the time and money to make it again. Maybe that's why many of them aren't in business anymore. I figure it takes 3 to 4 times the money to make it again, because after the first time, which is a total loss of time, material and profit, the cost to make it again is also a total loss.
