Sorry, I didn't know you wanted to know specifically which charger.:(

It was the wall charger that I screwed it into to see if it would work, but I have since then also tried the USB charger. Nothing from neither of them. And as far as the overfill, well, I guess that's possible, but the carto I was using was a pre-filled carto and I had been puffing on it since yesterday morning. Brand new from the package.

I apologize. I should not have responded like that. I should have been more specific. I would probably be pretty frustrated if I were in your position. I hope you get things worked out.

Hey justincase, check the center post on the battery. There is another thread in this sub forum about how to fix the shorty batteries. It actually applies to most any of the batts. If the center post got pushed in too far to make contact, it would account for no vape and no charge. Worth a quick check. Hope you don't go back to analogs. Think you will find they taste and smell pretty bad now. I tried one about a month after stopping and couldn't even finish it, nor did I want to. good luck and hang in there.

Justin, this was mentioned earlier but I didn't see where you replied that you tried it. I wanted to insure that it didn't slip past you. Try to blow into the battery as well as the passthrough. I have seen the switch stick and it took a good solid blow into them to get them back into the right position. On the passthru also try to plug and unplug and replug it. I had one that worked for awhile when I did this. I also have a passthru that quit within about 20 minutes of use. I got it out yesterday and was fiddling with it. I smacked it on the counter fairly hard and it began working for a few minutes. It quit again and I smacked it a few more times and it worked again for a couple of drags. I know you can't survive like this but it might get you by until the replacements get to you or the spares some of the members are sending. I would send you one of my batteries but I'm so far away you could get one from V4L b4 mine got to u.

Stuff just happens sometimes. My 1st pass-thru from nhaler only lasted 6 weeks, but my one from V4L is still working for over 3 months. Lesson learned, I have 4 new unopened pass-thru's for back up, 100's of ML's of juice and probably 50 or so unopened cartridges and 5 batteries. Just be a little better prepared. You don't have to have what I have, but at least enough backup to sort any problems you may have.

You have 4 back up PTs? Kinda intrested why you didnt go with a 5v mod? I have about 10 back up batts and am kicking myself in the .... for not going mod instead.

Oh Great Gazoo,

Great advice on resting a discharged battery to let it come up to the point that the MCU gets PowerGood. I had to discover that through trial-and-error and debugging.

It's actually a small software change to make that go away. I've patched one of my generic ["play"] batteries to shut down a tenth volt earlier and haven't experienced the problem again.

Ok, well I have tried everything suggested. Blowing, sucking, banging or otherwise--(no, didn't really bang or suck, it kinda just went off the tongue like that.) Nothing has worked so far, but as also suggested, I have it in the charger just to see and will leave it alone *slaps hand off battery* for awhile to see what might happen.

I just want everyone to know that I did not come on here to slam V4L or anything, I was just frustrated and needed to vent. In my opinion, V4L is not only one of the best e-cig companies I have dealt with, but one of the best companies overall I have dealt with. E-cig or otherwise. NO SLAM ON THEM. I mean it.

And thank you Steve, I will email Mark. Might have sent to wrong address, as I read your pm before I saw your post on this thread. Hopefully it will be ok. I don't want to over e-mail him. I sent it to the customer service email addy from your website.

Again, thanks everyone. It's just really frustrating. You bunch are some of the best out there by far. I am happy to belong to such a community.:)

It is not you, they are cheaply made. Always, always, always have spare batts.

V4L has old style shorty batteries for sale for $7.50 in the super sale section.
That is less than the cost of 1 pack of cigarettes here...
I grabbed one of those just in case I want to give one to a friend, at that price they are disposable!

I have budgeted a plan to order at least 1 battery a month, every month.
I started vaping 20 days ago. So far I have 2 auto regulars, 2 XL manuals, and 1 auto shorty
...so much for my budget plan :p thanks V4L ;)

I certainty am not as smart as you with electronics but I do understand what you have done...lol. I wish I had all that stuff you do so I could play around with the programming. My current regulated box mod using a simple AMC7135 circuit will have to suffice for now..ha ha. At least it's pretty much fail proof.

But I have been following your posts and appreciate your input. I too dissected one of my batteries that had failed and immediately noticed the cheapness....but on the other hand was impressed by all the tiny circuitry. It really is amazing what they can pack into a small area.

Well, dagnabbit! I was hoping that something would work on at least one of them, for you. Hopefully you can keep recharging that manual battery until something shows up there for you. I'd definitely take up the offers for free batteries from the other members, we all try and help one another around here when we need it, that would put you ahead of the game on some extra batts for future use and when you get in a position to help others, you can always pay it forward to others in need. We don't think a thing about sending out goodies to our forum pals. None of us wants to see anybody back on those nasty firesticks.

Definately email Mark @ mark@vapor4life.com, or add to comments section with purchase.

Now, I AM SPENDING BIG$$$$ on Leaford to work on myking these the best possible way. The cost will go up, but, so will the quantity. I will tell you, as well, I am using a sample NEW style passthru. and it ROCK's...is more solid, thicker guage wire, longer, better, and will definately put a smile on your face:thumbs:

You will continue to see improvements:D

Enjoy

Steve:cool:
Do you mean that you will have more of a stock, but at a higher price...or did you mean to say quality :D :p

and if you can squeeze blood out of that turnip that would be great, because it sure would be nice to have high quality stuff come out from over there on a more consistant basis.

Same here. I was totally amazed at how small the circuitry was as well. I was expecting something a bit larger (or longer I prolly should say.) I don't have anything remotely that tiny to play with that. I guess for the time being I gotta just stick to modding/fixing larger electronics. (my tv loves to munch convergence ICs, especially chinese made generics.)

Thanks for the compliment, Gazoo!

I love playing with the tiny stuff. I love the focus required. I'm currently playing with something that has half again the pin count in 1mm2 less space, and 10x the specs. :) I don't etch these boards at home, though - that'd be _ugly_.

Honestly, I was surprised at how _large_ and wasteful of board space the circuit was. I was expecting some nasty six layer board or something.

i'm sure as long as the emails are polite mark won't mind being reminded--if you sent to the cust. service email through the website, i'd email again since that seems to have a high failure rate. i know mark would be MUCH more upset about missing your email than he would be about getting multiple (polite, lol) emails.

and i can completely understand your frustration, esp as a new vaper. in another post i talked about V4L being popular because they are hand-holders... and with this technology/manufacturing on top of quitting smoking, we need all the hand-holding we can get.

it's scary to find something actually WORKS for quitting analogs and then feel like the rug is getting snatched out from under your feet. i'm glad you got support here for a tough time.

Justin, try giving the threads a thorough scrubbing - use a cotton swab and kind of blot it semi-dry from a rubbing alchohol dip. Scrub the threads and carefully scrub away at the inside (stay away from the center hole), then poke a needle around in the 3 vent holes. Blow it out and then give the batteries and the PT another try. My boyfriend's auto PT has given up twice & I've been able to revive it both times by using this method. Hope it works for you! ;)

Yeah. 2 batt's and a passthru. The passthru died, got a replacement, the replacement died, just las night, now one of my batt's just died.

So I am down to only 1 battery and enough supplies to last 4 months!
