Is it me or is the draw on the Protank strange?

Ahh, the airy vape of the Pro tank! I know exactly what you mean. I fought with mine, bought an air flow regulator to stiffen the draw and finally just put it aside until I got my ZMax. Now, set at 8 watts, I find I love my Pro Tank. I haven't figured out the difference other than the way it sits on the ZMax. Somehow it decreased the air flow without having to use the regulator anymore. Lots of folks love the airy draw, I did not. Now I get plumes, nay clouds, of vapor and great taste. Hope this helps. I think I got the air flow regulator at MadVapes. They are inexpensive (about $3). In addition, you can block one of the air vents and stiffen the draw that way.

Protanks do have an airy draw, I like the easy draw but, it does need higher voltage, above 6 at least, 8 for clouds of vapor. Me, I don't need clouds, I just want the flavor and TH to be right and, if that's w/o a cloud or with one, either is fine.

Never understood why you need to fog the room if you get the nic you need, the flavor, TH and temp are to your liking - seems like just for show if you ask me.

I had the same problem. I had four Vivi Nova's and then got a Protank. Way different draw. Once you put the Vivi's down and mainly use the Protank, you won't notice it as much. Are you using the beauty ring that came with it? If not,try it. I think it did better with the ring when on my Ego Twist. But on my Vamo,it's awesome. Good luck.

Yes, I'm using the ring.

How are you guys covering the holes with tape without interfering with the threads? Or are you putting tape on the holes surrounding the holes on the Beauty ring/Skirt ?

i replaced the 2 1mm flavor wicks with one 3mm wick and it feels like the pull is much better, still a bit airy, but the smoke is thick and I get that nice full hit satisfaction. When i hit my iclear 30, the draw is much tighter but i have to tank a longer draw to get that full hit I like.

I feel like the 3mm is letting the coil keep up with my pull.

    No you can't
Not my tip its 1911Builder he gets the credit

    Workes with any 510 connector.

I'm a cheap guy, so I've never actually bought one, because I just use a short piece of thin wall silicone tubing, cut to about 1/4" long (length will vary) and slide onto the battery 510 collar. Fit the tank, or any 510 liquid container, slide the tubing up to block off as many vent slots as needed. Ta da! instant airflow controller.

This simple thing works, just cut a piece from silicon sleeve that the wick/coil come in, I placed over the female part of 510 connector on my vamo cut flush to the top; tighter you screw the tank in the less air flow.

I used scissors, just cut a little at time till you get the right lenght.

Worked with my Johnson Creek Vea's batteries too.

Had to cut it little longer on for my vivi nova's tanks.

    Improve juice taste also.

You might want to try using evod heads in your protank for a tighter draw. The two are interchangeable. Unfortunately they won't be around much longer, as kanger is switching to the protank style heads only.

I've noticed that the Vision Victory heads are short like the Evods. I wonder if these will be around for a while? JD

Yep, 8 watts seems to be just right for me too. I don't think any of my APVs will do more than 5 volts?. I used the charts provided on these threads and found that 8watts seem to be good for everything so I just "set it and forget it". Yeah, I know, I watch too many infomercials, but that rotisserie thing really is great and it really is "just set it and forget it" easy!

Well I tried the tape method until I get home from work,,,,and it worked!!! It improved it big time.. Thanks guys when I get home I'll do the other method and cut some plastic.

If you run out of tape you can always wrap your finger around the airslots, that's how I first discovered the improvement - totally by accident.
