I personally started vaping and didn't go back to cigs (except for a slip up where I smoked 2), but I too am a chain vaper. It seems that these ecigs are satisfying my need and I no longer crave cigarettes. When I first started vaping, I did crave cigs after meals and especially first thing in the morning. I think it will probably subside for you... good luck and let us know how you do!

Happy vaping!!

I think it is immediate for some people, and a process for others.

But vaping isn't a magic bullet.

You can keep buying everything in the world, hardware and juice, but there has to be an "intent" and some basic personal discipline involved, just like any endeavor, if you want to succeed. (whether that be quitting smoking, dieting, starting school and studying, starting a new business, getting fit at the local gym, etc.)

Certain thought processes and behavioral patterns often need a little "tweaking" in the process of reaching our goals, right?

I started at 36mg and that lasted about a week. I wish I hadn't bought 6 bottles of 30ml each. .

You can buy some food flavorings in the same family as your juice, or something that might "go with", and then cut those high nic juices down with some no-nic PG/VG with flavorings.

That is basically how I got into DIY :) Trying to fix vendor juice.

Hey all.. :) New member, first post, long time lurker (of course LOL) :2cool:
Ive dabbled with vaping off and on for awhile using a victory egic setup, and bailed on it for various reasons. Finally decided to give it a real shot n get off the cigs for good, so I picked up an EVOD kit from a local brick n mortar and am very happy with the kit (fantastic setup vs. the price), and fairly satisfied, but it seems I STILL have the darn cig want. Only hits me with my morning cuppa, and after meals. :( Just seems like somethings missing.
On the plus side, I've gone from a pack a day, to a pack a week, which is HUGE for me.. Smoked for over 25yrs.. Put em down for 9 months a few yrs back, and after going thru some really trying things fell right back into it headfirst.. Hated myself for it..

Anyhoo.. Is it me, or do I just need to give it time for the transition to evolve over time?? Ill say this.. It's turned me into a chain vaper.. LOL Can't seem to put the thing down..:vapor:

Advice, comments, questions?? :)

You just need to find the right taste that satisfies you.
For starters:

1: Keep TWO tanks running; one with higher nicotine just for the morning cup o coffee; and one with low nicotine for chain vaping; I did that for months.

2: Get glass tanks; the miniprotank2 is the glass upgrade to the evod: there's also a glass evod too - say it on healthcabin.

Just going from a pack a day to a pack a week is a huge VICTORY. Keep it up.

Yeah, good recommendations there - both the "diluting" the higher strength nicotine with a PG/VG liquid (to save throwing it out) and also having a "break in case of emergency" tank on hand with a high concentration of nicotine for the weak moments. Very credible advice and might help a lot of vapers.

I just went through two years of my mom dying of lung cancer to get me to quit. She smoked 3 packs a day. The e cig came too late to help her.I tried vaping back then with her on an EGO and it didn't work for me. My brother in law helped me pick out the Innokin V3 and I really like that. I also have a big mod for when I need a stronger hit. But sometimes I think I OD on the nicotine. I guess it's just tirial and error and relearning new habits. Watching my mom take her last breath is burned in my memory. And right before she died, she wanted her e cig, but with only one lung left, she couldn't get the draw. But I've been cig free since Jan 16, except for two quarter cigs.

Cigarettes smell and taste nasty. Don't know why I keep my last pack in my car, security blanket? I did though clean out my car and treated myself to an auto detail and new seat covers. Wish I could buy a new car. Maybe a year later from all the money I save from cigs. However, being a newbie, I am spending a lot to find what I like and don't like. We have one vape shop, and unless you buy from them they won't help you. I'm having serious problems with the cleaning the atty and there is too many videos out there. I wish they would have one video site that helps explain this to us newbies. Reading is fine, but a picture is worth a 1000 words!

Have you thought about trying some online stores? There are a few out there with really good prices, like ecblendflavors.com and mtbakervapor.com. I've heard both those sites are good, and I actually just ordered some juices from ecblendflavors.com. Like you, I am still trying to figure out what I like and don't like. Good luck :)

Wow. Some SERIOUSLY good comments and advice. Ok, quick rundown on the setup.
EVOD 650Mah kit w/1.8 coils. My meter batts r toast so checking them is out for now. Based on what I've read that combo puts me in the sweet spot so I'm not too concerned. If anything, the coils may b higher but I should be fine. vapor and flavor production is fantastic to say the least.
I'm using 18mg flavored juice also. Two diff flavors and I swap out. Vape tounged myself after a full day of vaping being home sick. LOL.
I may have been vaping wrong from the sound of it so I'm working on the mouth hold small inhale nose exhale thing. Def seems to help with chain vape thing. Although I don't mind. Hehe.
Don't mention the provari or itaste MVP. I've been drooling over those for over a week now. LMAO!! I prefer the provari due to the size but the cost is prohibitive. (divorced dad with KILLER CS pmts) Lemme burn the EVOD kit out first. Heck, I have yet to replace a coil yet n I'm heading on two weeks of pretty heavy usage. :)
Funny butI was looking at those two tanks as well. Seems I'm choosing/considering wisely. But then again I'm a mechanic by trade and a gear head at heart so anything shiny (oooo SHIny!!) make me like a distracted dog (SQUIRREL!!!). ROFLMAO!!

Don't worry, it's not you. It took me some 2 years for a total switch - sometimes I'd only vape, other times I would smoke a lot. Just keep in mind that every analog you didn't smoke is a success and amazing contribution to your health.

You've already gotten good tips regarding e-cig use, but here's mine: try changing your routine around the times you crave analogs. For instance, try taking a walk after meals instead of what you are doing.

You are on the good path, keep vaping :D

N00dl3s, I quit analogs 6 days ago after struggling between both for a week. I was chain vaping and would finally smoke a cigarette in frustration (I did not chain smoke, I do not want to chain vape). What it took for me to finally lay down the analogs are 3 things: I purchased a variable device, finally found a tobacco flavor that actually reminded me of cigarettes, and went a bit higher in the nicotine level from what I had been buying. I only used the liquid with the higher nic level when the cravings were bad, and set my device to get a good TH. I am positive that it was all 3 of these things that did the trick.
I had smoked for years, quit for a year, then picked them back up again 2 years ago. I hated myself for it, too. You can do this, just keep trying to find that right combination.

I'm not hitting the reg cigs out of frustration. :) I'm fine during the day. But the morning cuppa and after meals.. Man, vaping just doesn't seem to do it.. :D I think the biggest thing was the WAY I was vaping.. Doing it like a cig. Didn't know the absorption method was different. Since changing methods I've found I dont chain vape as much. Do need to pick up some more juice though. Sucked down a 12ML bottle of juice i like a LOT.. lol

Yeah when it first got the draw down right for maximum absorption the 18 I was using got me od'd , that was a rough day at work... No I do a combination of mouth draws and straight lung hits for the extra TH... My wife still smokes at those times but vapes the rest of the time.. So a major reduction to say the least. Eventually you will be able to put them down completely.

I was lucky in that my decision to quit coincided with the first of two polar votex events and nothing was going to get me out of the house in that cold--not even a need for a cig. I actually used Green Smoke for the first one and by the 2nd was using a vv3. What actually did it for me is that I fell in love with e-juice--much more so than the icky taste of cigs. So I never wanted to go back. I started with 12 mg nicotine because I read somewhere (maybe on the forum) that if you smoked "lights" that was the place to start. I was fine with the 12 and had "mind cravings," but not nicotine cravings. I recently dropped down to 6 mg, but have 12 available just in case. I would like to get to zero nic at some point, but I don't think I will stop vaping. BTW, I am 70 (headed for 71 in a couple of months) and was smoking almost 2 packs a day of Virginia Slim Lights when I decided I was burning up money and I was sick and tired of the stink. Just goes to show that with the right incentive, any one of any age can quit, even after many failed attempts over the years with gum and patches and so forth.
