I just got my new set up yesterday. I got a ego pas-threw and a Vision Clearomizer. I also got some Desert Ship from a E-store I will not mention as i did not have a good experiences with them. Its a 12mg camel juice.
now here is my problem. Im coming from using a pre-filed Cartomizers to a clearo and the hits are a bit harsh. They burn my throat a bit. So is this the juice or am getting a hot hit from the clearo?

Clearos can be harsher. Best to turn down the voltage if vv, but for a PT... just make sure you tilt it upside down and keep it wet.

You didn't say what ohms and what volts, so IDK how else to tell. Clearos are usually top coil, so the coil is very close to the mouthpiece. Make sure you pull off the end and use a plastic atty cart (with filler removed) or a drip tip to give you some "cool down" time in the draw too.

It's a 2.8 ohm clearo....I'm new to this so excuses my ignorance. But pull off what end? The mouth peas?

If the coil is new, it could just be part of the 'breaking it in' phase. If not, you might be dry burning a bit, definitely make to wet the wicks if your tank is low. If it keeps burning your throat after a while, you might want to switch out the coil and see if the new one does the same thing.

Good luck, let us know how things progress.

yes, I think he means pull out the rubber cap on the mouthpiece side and use a drip tip(longer, bigger hole mouthpiece) as it will let the vapor settle down a bit coming off the coil.

I had similar problems with clearomizers way back in the day, the drip tip definitely helps but ya gotta keep that coil wet. good luck, have fun

^^^^ Yep.

IDK if that's a 5 volt PT or a standard PT (one with a battery). 2.8 ohms is plenty cool for the 3.x volt PTs. For 5 volts, it's warm but not too hot usually (but with a top coil could be too hot). I usually try to run 3.0 to 3.2 ohms at 5v for example.

And yes, the end piece. On mine, it's a white cap with a hole in the center. Pull it off with a bent paperclip and put a plastic cart or drip tip on it to make it longer/cooler. After it "wears in" it may get a little cooler too has gunk builds up on the coil/wick.

And not any ignorance on your part, no excuse necessary! That's why this forum is here! :)

EDIT: eGo PT should be cool enough...use the tip and see if it helps. :)

Well, Tanks are tricky things too... and many use clearos. lol. Others don't they use bottom coil cartos, others have rebuildable wicks and coils, but most of those are on the top too.

I'd say to start with... find a carto and/or clearo that you like 1st. Then with that experience, move into tanks. Tanks have their own issues. Just my opinion. Others may chime in with tank recommendations and a punched bottom-coil carto or different ohm top coil.

It's just that I don't often recommend tanks to people as a solution to problems, unless the problem is "____ doesn't hold enough juice". Otherwise they can multiply the problems and the mess.
