Is it normal to go through more juice on a rebuilt Protank head?

I just rebuilt my Protank head yesterday. 5 wraps of 30 gauge kanthal on 3mm silica wick. Turned out to 1.2 ohms. Is it normal to be going through juice about twice as fast as before? Obviously the flavor and vapor production are way better.

The amount of vapor produced is directly proportional to the amount of juice consumed. In other words you cannot produce more vapor using the same amount of juice. The increased vapor production (thus increased juice usage) can come from lower resistance, higher voltage, and/or better wicking.

Mine went up as I moved from standard Protank heads to 1.5/1.6 and up to 10-11w (when I was using 7-8). I also use 60/40 and 70/30 as I prefer more flavor, but vapor production really hasn't suffered from the higher PG. I'm not blowing 3-5 seconds of clouds, but I'd rather not choke to death :).

Yeah, I thought as much. I'm using a 50/50 blend but still get lots of flavor. I'm buying higher-end juices now that have awesome flavors. Any juices with higher PG make my throat super dry and scratchy in the morning. When I switched to a 50/50 blend, no more sore throat. I'm a singer, so I've got to keep my throat nice and moistened. :)
