I have a DSE801 and the battery life is only 24 hours for me (idk how that is compared to other vapers). Is it better to recharge a dying battery 4 hours before I know I am going to use it or is it ok to charge it when it's dying and use the other battery that was charged 24 earlier?

"battery life is 24 hours" are you saying the battery that you are using lasts 24hrs before needing a charge? THat's great.. but usually just count the vaping time.
it's ok to vape till the led on the ecig indicates it needs charging (by blinking) There is also nothing wrong with charging it for 24hrs, even it is only necessary to charge until the light is green.

I'm sure that one of the battery experts will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most batteries include circuitry to prevent overcharging. Once the battery is fully charged, it stops drawing power from the charger.
I must be a lightweight because it takes 3-4 days to finish a cart too!

I've accidentally left on bat charging overnight. When I noticed it, the charger itself seemed to "shutdown" indicating no activity at all (no charge or charge complete light). This was with a v2cig
But I'm paranoid and try to never leave my bats charging for more that 3 hours for standard size and 4 hours for XL
No harm charging the battery a day before you use it, or many days before for that matter. A battery just sitting there, fully charged, will stay charged for a long time -- it's not operating unless the circuit is closed.
MOST rechargeable batteries lose 1-3% charge per day, so if you let a charged battery sit for a month, it may be dead or may have a 70% charge. Let it sit for 3 months and it will almost certainly be dead. 24 hrs shouldn't have a noticeable effect, unless you leave it outside in the cold (BAD idea)
