Hi I've been vaping for 5 years I stopped smoking of course and am very glad I've had acute bronchitis for a while now I just started doxycycline antibiotics yesterday I'm a chain vapor and it's really hard for me to stop vaping especially because I'm a nervous wreck all the time I really dont want to stop vaping and I was on antibiotics 2 weeks ago but it's not going away can anyone tell me if vaping makes bronchitis worse or stop it from healing I dont trust drs opinions because there mostly against vaping I could be a tolerance to antibiotics I also have asthma is it ok to still vape? Or should I stop while taking the antibiotics like I said I really dont want to stop vaping

Not a doctor, I have vaped through bronchitis but mine was mild. You could try to find some snus, that might help.

I would say listen to your docs though, especially on a second round of abx.

I think there are plenty of asthmatic vapers that vape, I mean I was dx with it as a kid but I don't have symptoms now.

There is no clear answer to these things though.

I have smoked through multiple episodes of pneumonia the results were not good. Well, in a way they were.. I was about to be dx with COPD the push I needed to start vaping.

Inhaling any chemicals with lung issues cannot be good, especially chain vaping....so the smart thing would be to stop, but with any addiction that's easier said then done.... obviously vaping is better then smoking, so you definitely dont want to go back to that. perhaps just cut down a bunch, like a couple puffs every hour and no chaining

I'm not sure if you were posting out of desperation to find justification for defying your Dr. or what, but here's something to think about. I'm not a doctor, by the way.

I've read nothing anywhere, ever, that antibiotics and vaping doesn't mix. This seems to be your primary question. I can't say if it does or not, but people smoke while on antibiotics with no known issues that I'm aware of. I think this would be the least of your concerns. Personally, I see no way to tie vaping while taking antibiotics as a problem. If you've been prescribed a broncodilator, that might change things. I'm not sure. Your lungs are inflamed because they are irritated from the bacterial infection.

Your doctor likely wants you to stop vaping to avoid ANY irritation to your lungs - regardless how minute that might be. While vaping is MUCH safer than smoking, anything that we inhale besides clean air IS an irritant. Some react different than others.

You're going to have to allow your body to answer this question. Vape away. If your breathing gets worse or refuses to get better, then stop. Or cut back.
