With my new provari, i have 2 x 18500 IMR batteries. The charger that i bought from the store was a trustfire tr-001. Im just curious if anyone knows if its okay to actually keep the batteries in there while the trustfire charger is plugged into the wall indefinitely. So even if the battery is full charge while sitting in the charger, is the battery being safe?

Im the sort of person that doenst like having to unplug and plug stuff back in, i find it a huge annoyance and hassle.

The person who sold it to me didnt tell me any operating procedure and there was no manual that came with it. I dont want the thing to randomly blow up on me.

I would take those batteries out of there as soon as they are charged. If your charger malfunctions and decides to start charging them again, you might be in trouble. I'd unplug the charger too.

I unplug anything that doesn't need to be plugged in - my wife thinks I am nuts because before we leave the house for an overnight stay, I go around and unplug the TV, the kettle, lamps, DVRs etc etc.

To make it easier for me I put an extension cord (power strip) up on top of the desk so I am not constantly having to reach underneath to plug and unplug chargers - I also got one that allows me to switch off each individual outlet in the extension.

You're one of those people eh?... 8-o Hey I can get you a great deal on some tinfoil... :p

(In all seriousness though, many electronic devices left plugged in waste small amounts of power which can add up.)

If you don't want the thing to randomly blow up on you get another charger. There are a lot of TR001's sold - and a lot of complaints about them as well. Enough that I don't "trust" TrustFire anything. They really are at the bottom of the line when it comes to chargers. It will (probably) work ok, but to minimize risks don't leave it unattended. And don't leave it plugged in with the batteries in place for extended periods when the charge cycle is complete.

Of all things we have to deal with vaping, the last thing people should be doing is cheaping out on the charger. For the cost of a TrustFire, double that up to a whopping twenty bucks and get something like an Xtar WP2 II that has been tested and shown to charge batteries correctly and is backed by a two year warranty.

Don't know how much truth there is to it, but I've heard that chargers will use electricity even if there isn't anything attached to it. I have cell phone chargers that I've kept plugged in for years. I unplug my pv chargers, only because we use the same outlet for the coffee pot, tablet charger, etc. I remove batteries as soon as they're charged - have heard too many horror stories about things blowing up. :?:

:D I am. I think it's something my dad drilled in to me - he used to unplug the TV when he went to the local store.

I am totally not controlling about anything else, just stuff being plugged in when it need not be. Oh and loud TVs -
