Is it possible for a battery to make the carto taste burnt?

Seriously. I've had this KR8 for most of the day. I charged all four batteries. I mixed my e-juices. I tried out the root beer, but it tasted burnt. So, I thought it was a bad carto. I filled another blank carto with the root beer. It tasted burnt.

I just got done vaping some Raspberry (Good Stuff), and it tasted fine. The battery went dead, and I switched to the battery that the root beer was on, and suddenly the Raspberry tastes burnt.

Can a battery really make a carto taste like burning polyfill? Should I return this battery for another one?

I just tried my Strawberry-Kiwi on the affected battery, and it also tastes burnt. I tried the Raspberry on a third battery, and the burnt taste was lessened. I am assuming that either the battery is putting out too much voltage, or... I dunno. I've never had anything like this happen before...

I noticed this too with one(of 2) of my Kr8s from a starter. I switched back and forth between the two trying to figure it out. After a day the burnt taste went away. Yeah, I'm guessing that it's giving out a lot of power. Not sure if a battery needs to be broken, but in my case, it sure seemed like it did.

I'm not sure I can handle the burnt taste for a full day. It pretty much tastes like I'm vaping motor oil (the old black kind, not the new amber kind). I have three good batteries, so I consider myself lucky that they all work at least somewhat. I'm just wondering if I should press the manual button down every few minutes until the battery goes dead, recharge it and try it again... or send it back to the company for another one...

I certainly think so. That's why I don't use that type cartos. Did they pop some as they turned bad tasting? If they were poping a little, that's usually the inner filling material burning. I don't think it's polyfill. Polyfill is used on the outer lining, but I think the inner 'blanket' material is something else. If you look at some of the videos where people have torn them apart, you can see what I mean. If you have any that you can't use anymore, take some tweezers or long nose pliers and pull the filler our of one. You'll see what I mean. About the battery, maybe try hitting it a little lighter? If it's an auto, take shorter puffs. If it's manual just keep the button down a couple seconds on a four second pull or something. Maybe someone will have some better suggestions but after fifteen of those things, I don't want anymore. Yuck! Sorry I wasn't any help and hope you get sorted soon. JD

If you have some VG or some yuck juice that you don't mind wasting some of, you can use that to clean it a little bit. Use what's called the condom fill method and over fill a little, blow it out and repeat. Vape a little to see if the burnt taste is reduced. If it is, blow it out real good and try your juice again. I remember doing this when I first ran into the same problem when I was first starting out. It works a little bit.

I'm not an expert on these and I could be wrong but I think you need some new cartos. I don't think it's the fault of the battery. It's just new and holds a good charge and kicks good current into the heating coil. Once the carto is burnt, it's going to taste that way until the taste gets diluted down. If you have a battery thats about half run down and a good carto, you might give that a try. Anyways, hang in there, I'm sure you'll get it sorted :)

No, there was no popping. Just the burnt taste.

I've tried several cartos, and the burnt ones taste fine on the other three batteries. I don't think its the cartos. I could be wrong, but that's my assumption from some of the troubleshooting I've done.

I e-mailed my problem to Litecigusa, and should receive a response tomorrow sometime. If they think it needs returned, I'll still have three backups. If they think it just needs broken in, I'll try their troubleshooting steps. Right now, I just have that battery set aside for emergency uses.

I do have some extra VG, but I hate that stuff. I can only have a little bit in my juices. But, I may try that step you suggested with overfilling the cartos and blowing them out tomorrow when I'm more awake. (Nearly bedtime for me.)

We'll see what happens. Thanks for your advice!

Sounds like you're on the right track there. That battery may be overcharging a little.

If they are fine on the other batteries, then they probably don't need this.
