I've been getting a nasty burnt taste on on 510 lately and it looks like the filler at the top of the cart wasn't getting enough liquid for the atomizer. I had to either wait longer between puffs or had to add few drops of liquid to it to get it wet enough to vape. What a pain but then one day I accidentally took a couple of drags without pushing down on the battery button and I got a mouth full of juice and when I activate the battery the burnt taste went away. Now I take a couple of short drags before I push the battery button to activate the battery. I have not gotten the burnt taste since I've been doing this except when the cart went dry. Those of you who has this problem give this a try.

This sound similar to what I do once in a while which is I just do a quick "suck" on the cart without pushing the button which seems to reduce any flooding and help keep the contact area between the batt and atty dryer. I also think it may provide a little "vacuum" to draw a little bit of e-juice from the cart too.

Just a short, hard quick draw once in a while seems to work for me.

My only problem has been when I re-fill my carts, I sometimes put too much filler in them...I figure this is part of the learning curve...Only been vaping for a couple of months...So, with time,,,even I will learn how to fill a cart properly.....Might have to work on this for the next 10-20 years to get it just right...Again, Welcome...and Enjoy..
