Is it possible for an atty to short out a PT?

I can't figure out which is the culprit -- the eGo PT or the EM 510 atty (not LR) in this situation.

I am happily vaping on my eGo PT hooked up to the wall charger, and all of a sudden, the PT's button glows a light blue and a weird smell is emitting from the batt. The PT batt gets very hot, so I disconnect everything and try the EM 510 atty on another batt. The atty is dead -- no coils or anything. The PT batt light doesn't light up. Try another atty on the PT, the PT is dead.

Obviously something shorted somewhere, but I'm trying to make sure it isn't the atty. Any help appreciated.

Do you already own a multi-meter? If not, take Whistle's advice and get one.

Here are a couple links that will help and your multi meter determine what you are dealing with.

In answer to your question, Yes, it is very possible for shorted atty's to blow batteries. DO NOT put the atty in question on any other battery until you know for sure. A multi meter will tell you the answer.

Hope this helps a little.
