I am trying to join the DIY fraternity, and I have noticed that different vendors have better prices on different items. Some have cheap nicotine, some cheap flavorings, rarely both. It is frustrating to say the least. Do you just suck up the costs and pay the higher higher prices on nicotine or flavorings at your vendor? Do you order your supplies from different vendors that have the very best prices on individual items, then get eaten alive by shipping?

Some intelligent vendor could rule the DIY e-liquid world by having the cheapest (or close to the cheapest) prices for everything a person needs.

Somewhere out there
Watch the shipping costs as well, bulk items like nic, VG, PG can really drive up the shipping. When I was getting started and needed a bunch of stuff, I tried to buy everything from one vendor and put together a large enough order to hit the free shipping level.

Now, I'm still coasting on what I bought in 2014, I shouldn't really need anything else until 2016.

It is possible. Wizard labs, ecig express, my freedom smokes, heartland vapes are several that come to mind. You won't necessarily get the best deal this way. But you could get everything at one of these. I am sure there are other sites these are just the ones that come to mind

Bullcityvapor.com is my go to for flavor.

Essential depot for vg. They run sales that make it a crazy good deal at times. A good deal all the time.

Nicotine I am still trying different vendors. Nicotine river has a very decent nic product, $8 for a 60ml to see if you like it.

This place is great for bottles mine arrived within a week of ordering.

I think that I am being partially misunderstood here. Yes, plenty of places will carry everything you need in one stop. However, no one has nicotine and flavorings at the best price for everything. Which means you shop for the best possible price and pay lots of extra shipping to multiple companies, or just accept the fact that you will pay more for certain items at your vendor and get everything at one place with one shipping cost. Kind of a shame, but supermarkets do the same thing, certain ones always have cheaper items in different food categories.

I wouldn't worry about getting everything from one place. The heavy stuff that would cost a lot to ship can be ordered in bulk (nic, VG, PG - like 1-2 years'+ worth), and if you do, you can go for the quality you want and save a ton of money while you're doing it. Plus, if your state gets funky like AR, you'd be set for awhile. You can get nic highly concentrated (like 60-100mg), so even 250ml can last you a really long time, and shouldn't cost very much to ship. When bargain hunting for nic though, keep in mind that some brands will affect your flavors and you'll be stuck with that for awhile, so may be wise to go for quality. Nude Nic and VaporTek are the two I've been hearing good things about lately. Essential Depot regularly has crazy deals with free shipping on really good VG & PG by the gallon, and a lot of people here will attest to the quality/purity of their product.

Get those out of the way and you'll be down to flavoring - tiny bottles, plenty of places ship USPS first class, so no big deal. Murphy's Law applies: no one store will have ALL of the flavors you need - but their prices are pretty comparable, so find one that has most of them. The thing with flavors too, don't go by reviews and descriptions alone. Always order sample sizes first. It will cost more per ml, but you wouldn't wanna blow your budget on bulk flavoring that you can't stand. Also, don't stock up with somebody else's "essential must have flavors" list - if you do, you'll end up with bottles that never get opened. Find some recipes you wanna try and order stuff for those - eventually, you'll have your own list of must haves. Keep an eye out for sales and coupon codes - I get mine by getting on mailing lists.

@TraderX It just takes some time to piece it together to get the best value from different websites. What I did was break it up into separate orders. I ordered my nic/PG/VG from one place (RTS Vapes). Then ordered my equipment from another (usually from amazon or ebay. I mix by weight FYI. Great method you should look into it). I ordered my bottles from another (Premium Vials good price, good bottle with nice tight poly caps). And then focused on flavors which is the hardest part imo. Wait till you order flavors . You'll find a lot of flavor concentrates in stock one place but they will be out of another. It's loads of fun piecing that order together. Keep in mind I was ordering quite a bit of stuff to last me a while so I was more cost effective going at it like I did. If you are just looking to try it out with a small start up cost you may want to do it a different way. One last tip...read research read research as it will help keep you safe and happy with your setup and juice mixes. Hope this helps. Good luck and welcome to the DIY fraternity!

Heck I haven't been able to find a single vendor that carries all the things I uses to mix regardless of price...so, no for me also.

Then some vendors that get raves on here are out of stock on enough things that I need enough times when I went to order that I have written them off as a possible source forever.

Think about it from a practical standpoint. There are many different ways to make juice. There are even more basic camps of flavor taste profiles. There is a large number of producers. Negotiating every producer to the lowest price and having the volume to justify that price on so many different methods and taste profiles is probably a full time job for 6 people. Which requires an even larger volume of sales to pay. All for a small subset of a small minority. Can't see it happening, ever.

(Then throw in the CS issues that always seem to appear whenever a vendor grows too fast, whew, who'd want the headache?)

I just priced a carton of smokes locally. $93 all in. At a pack a day, that would run me about $280+ every month. The point being, keep it all in perspective and don't sweat a few dollars here or there if a supplier is convenient and has quality product. Once you get rolling, shop the sales, buy in bulk and your negligible costs for juice will allow for buying a lot of gear and flavorings.

Several vendors have free shipping at a certain price point. Sometimes that makes it worth spending a little more for something they sell rather than paying shipping at two (or more!) vendors. I'm with Hoosier on the ones that are frequently out of stock on things. It gets irritating and I end up just skipping them. One in particular comes to mind..like everything about them, except the fact that they are almost guaranteed to be out of stock on something I need to order every time I go to their site.

This one has no tobacco flavorings, or at least very few.
Just about all the Flavour Art flavorings at OSDIY are tobacco flavors. I buy from them just about weekly. They have some good prices on flavors and some of their house flavors are awesome! (Blue Razz Slushie especially so!) Their shipping is a good deal. Flat $5.25 for any order under $75, and it's 2 day Priority mail. I order on Friday and get it on Monday... usually... it IS USPS after all. Lol! I get my PG, VG, and nic base from MFS. I order them in larger quantities so I don't get raped on shipping. They use Fed Ex and it's not the cheapest, but it's 2 - 3 days and their prices are decent on the stuff I order. I was getting everything from OSDIY looking for the one stop thing myself, but I figured out its cheaper to buy from the 2 different vendors. And since I order from MFS by the liter, I don't have to buy very often. MFS does coupon codes all the time too if you sign up for their emails.

I'm new to DIY, so this week I had to load up on everything. I'm kind of OCD when it comes to best prices online. I found 10 highly rated recipes and started my quest from there. I picked up the gallon of vg $25 and the pg plus a few mixing items from amazon using Prime. The nic (1liter 100mg) from mfs and added a few flavors to get to free shipping. Ordered over 50 bottles of flavor. Total for everything, $273 for about 3 years worth of juice. Wizard has the best prices on Capella and Flavor Apprentice, and Ecigexpress best on Flavor Art. Both were out of some flavors I needed so I found them at RTS Vapes. Killed about a day on it but didn't mind:blush:

ECigExpress has awesome sales on flavoring. The last code I used was like 40% off FA. So get on their mailing list. If not for a good sale like that, there's usually a 7-10% off coupon at the bottom of their weekly newsletter.

40% off would have been great! I used the reddit coupon "ELRECIPES" for 10% off.

I ordered from ECigExpress a couple of weeks ago. Took them two days to ship my order out, and then the shipping was really slow from the far corner of Washington state to PA. The e-juice they sent expires in two months also. They are not much faster than Fasttech, and at least the Fasttech e-juice is not old. I am not very pleased with these boneheads.

Oh man, I feel bad recommending them now. They weren't that bad the few times I've ordered, but I'm in Cali, and come to think of it, I only ordered from them when they had those crazy weekend sales on stuff that I wanted. Bull City Vapor - been hearing a lot of great things about them. :thumb: But they're not selling nic at the moment (stupid new NC tax law).
