Is it possible to paint/recolor batteries?

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post under, but since it would involve modding a battery, it was my best guess.. I'm wondering if it is possible to paint, or other-wise recolor batteries, particularly 18650's. I have a sweet AR mod on the way, and it has large holes on every side of the mod, so the battery is clearly visible. I am OCD about cosmetics/aesthetics, I even swap out a lot of my o-rings, so they match the atty/mod setup. I think a black, silver, or blood red color would look great showing through the holes in the AR. And I don't want to go out and find those color batteries, because now that i have started using VTC5's I can't bring myself to take a step down. So my question is, is it possible to paint/recolor 18650 batteries, and is it possible to do it safely? Thanks ahead of time.

I see no reason as to why you couldn't scuff, prime and put a color top coat on a battery. Let's see!

As soon as I saw the title of the thread, I thought 'shrink wrap', but Visus beat me to it. There's even videos on the 'net for how to do it, and if you need to take off the flat top to fit it in your mod. Happy vaping!

The outside of the batteries are silver, so wrapping them in clear shrink would make them silver.

I would think heat shrink tubing would be a little easier 1" Heat Shrink Tubing, 1 inch Shrinkable Tubing, 1.0 Heatshrink | MPJA.COM

Certainly the heat shrink tubing is a better choice, and matches the original sleeves.

I wouldnt recommend painting it. Heres why,, Spray paint brush paint that we use dosent have any hardener in it. Meaning it stays a little soft. It will scuff and peel in time especially if it gets a little to warm from sunlight, or whatever. You can get wraps to them or just get the color you like.
