I am currently using Mtbaker vapor due to costs, it's vapable and cheap. I use Thug juice and my wife uses creme de menthe. I also like Absinthe but it tends to make my chest hurt and feel heavy for some reason. At ecigexpress I can buy 50/50 PG/VG, the two required flavors(my understanding is Thug juice is FA's Jungle juice), and 50/50 24mg nicotine. I this calculator and bam, same juice for a third of the money. Is it really that simple? Buy listed supplies plus some bottle and syringes and call it a day?

MTB does offer 3mg now but I'd starting looking into this as I was tired of ordering 6mg and 0mg and mixing, may as well mix the whole deal. Haven't done intense math yet but look like $40 236ml bottle would be $15 or so DYI.

Yes, it is, but you can get carried away with it very easily. Hardest part is learning how much flavoring to add, lots of trail and error, till you get what you like. It's all fun :) Best part of DIY, not only savings, but you know exactly what is in your juice.......:)

Thanks. I figured the hard part would be figuring out how much flavoring to add. Just some trial and error with 15ml sizes. Any reason not to use 50/50 nic? That's the ratio we both prefer so it seemed to make sense. Is it much cheaper to buy PG/VG locally? I have a tractor supply but haven't checked to see if they have VG. Need to look and see if anyone sells PG, not a lot around here other than Walmart and Tractor supply plus a few beauty shops.

I think DIY can be as Easy, or As Hard, as you want to make it.

If you are willing to Try New Flavor Combinations and are Not Completely Hung Up on Minuscule Accuracy, that DIY can be Very Easy.

But if you have to be Able to Duplicate a Retail Flavor Exactly. And are Obsessed with Levels of Measurements that you Probably Can't Taste the Difference, then Yes, DIY can be Very Hard. As well as Frustrating.

I mix most of my mt. baker flavors at 20% with few exceptions. I'm still playing around with their fruit stripe gum flavor as it is really potent and perfumy (reminds me of how kleenex smells even after a month steeping). If you read the reviews on the flavors on their site, you'll see that more often than not others have posted what they personally think is a decent percent. Sometimes what they like and what you like are two totally different things though so go with the little test bottles first. Happy DIY'ing :)

If you're just trying to be frugal, try buying juice at a higher strength and dilute it down with PG and VG to your strength. I don't like really strong flavors, so I will occasionally buy pre-made at 12mg and dilute it to 6mg - double the juice for pennies more. At least you won't end up with a drawer full of "experiments" that MIGHT be vape-able SOME day in the distant future.

Really the hardest part of DIY is considering if the investment into the supplies needed is worth it. If you're like me, constantly vaping and dripping and a 30ml bottle lasts you only a week. Then yes. It's easy. Once you get the supplies it's as simple as finding a good calculator (ejuicemeup) and finding out what percentage of flavourings to start at. Each company has a list of the "recommended" percent so from there it's all experiment and have fun :)
