I have a tank that you just pop off the top and simply twice the knob to open up holes to drip in your juice but someone said this isn't safe. was wondering if this is true or not. I would obviously completely shut it off then drip it in not leave it on. I know some tanks you can't as it's a bottom fill only like my other tank is but this tank you only fill at the top I believe.

It's safe as long as you don't spill a drop. Juice and the internal electronics don't get along, you'll end up frying something. Keep a paper towel handy.
WHAT?!?!? how exactly does a tank filled with that "nasty short causing juice" not short out the coils....oh yeah, because it is NOT conductive

Perfectly safe. The only thing that could happen is flooding the coil so close the airflow and refill your tank.

You mean all those instances with the iStick 50 and juice getting inside them causing them to not work was a lie?

Well what kind of tank is it?

More and more tanks are topfill these days; the whole point is to make it easier to fill.

From what you said, you might have merely misunderstood what they were saying. Maybe someone walked up while you were refilling and said something about that being unsafe, referring to ecigs, and you assumed they were specifically referring to refilling.

Yes, if the juice was conductive you would short the device every time you put some on the coils

Juice can gunk up the works and make sh..stuff sticky but it is NOT going to short anything by itself

    Depends, got a steady hand?
Personally I remove mine first but it's up to you ;)

I never said it was conductive. You should look inside a mod. You'll find steel, copper, brass, aluminum, solder/solder acid, silicone, plastic, rubber, possible dielectric lubricant, capacitors, switches, micro boards, and other electrical components.

In juice you can find pg, vg, (water) flavoring (alcohol) citrus (tank cracker), and a whole bunch of stuff to gunk (sweetner), collect dust, cover small stuff, including air holes for ventilation, remove protection, or react with the compound.

Juice doesn't have to be conductive to harm a mod. It can cause over heating, resulting in failure. It can react with any of the compounds in the mod causing a failure.

So I'll just stick with "It's safe as long as you don't spill a drop. Juice and the internal electronics don't get along, you'll end up frying something. Keep a paper towel handy."

it's an aspire triton tank. some how I got juice inbetween that little pin that connects to the ecig but on the inside. really not sure how the hell that happened as I use the eyedroppers but it doesn't seem to be doing much I mean I tried cleaning it out.

I had the Nautilus, and it workes "basically" the same as the Triton. Occasionly I would get juice in the airflow area, between the coil and 510 pin. If it was bad I would wash the bottom of the tank out (usually vodka with a water rinse). If it was just a little bit I would use a qtip or a paper towel rolled to a pointed end and dab it out.

The Aspire line of tanks use a lot of vacuum when they are being used. This could cause leakage (pressure). If the coil is not firmly/snug seated in the bottom base, juice can get into the airflow area. Oring failure on the coil can allow this to happen. When a coil starts to fail it can cause leakage. I'd suggest just checking the tank once or twice a day to see if any is leaking into the 510 connection of the mod, where a qtip or paper towel will usually clean it up.

not sure what part you are talking about you mean the very bottom of the atty? or inside of the bottom part where you'd typically unscrew it and fill it ( the base I think it's called "deck" ) yea I have some leakage on the inside of the deck part where the 510 connector is not sure how the hell that happened cleaned some of It out but have to clean it out some more with qtip

I have a triton its the only tank I own. its safe to top fill just make sure its set to fill and not vape. and watch when you are filling it that u don't over fill the well and it'll be fine just remember to set it back to vape or you will have juice everywhere. I drive thru various elevations ( my nautilaus naut mini orchids and goblin all leaked when I drove thru the mtns) and work outside in various weather conditions and this is the only tank that has never leaked, even when it gets low on juice I vape 50/50-30/70 juice.

You have the right part. In my experience it is rare to get juice in there but it does happen. When you notice juice in the air holes/deck just check the area between the tank and the mod, though juice will usually find the easiest way out. Juice leakage through the 510 pin on the tank to the area between the tank and mod is even more rare in my experience, but has happened. Just wipe it off and check everything.

The Aspire line of tanks use a lot of vacuum when they are being used. This could cause leakage (from pressure changes). If the coil is not firmly/snug seated in the bottom base, juice can get into the airflow area. Oring failure on the bottom of the coil can allow this to happen. When a coil starts to fail (gunked/burned) it can cause leakage. The Triton is a very nice tank, you'll get used to it.

Top fill tanks are becoming very popular with manufacturers and vapers so I wouldn't worry about filling that way, just keep a paper towel handy.
