I have recently gotten a few rebuildable atomizer and tanks. Can I safely test for shorts using my Precise+? I have collapsed a spring on a REO already.
Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "test for shorts"? If you mean simply put the tanks on and try them out, of course you can. But if you mean can you put tanks on and force short them out or overtighten them to try to short them, i surely wouldn't recommend it.

If you are building coils i strongly recommend that you go to a hardware store and buy a multimeter. In fact i would recommend that everybody that vapes should own one. you can get one for less then $30 and it can be a great tool in troubleshooting any vapeing problem from a bad atty/cart to testing battery chargers and batteries.

I should have been more clear in my first post. I just wanted to know if it would damage the Precise+ if I used it first with a new coil. A multimeter right now is out of the question. My employer has been having shut down days the past three weeks, so there is not an extra $30. Thanks for the replies.

What about 3 dollars? It aint pretty and isnt great but harbor freight has those cheapo meters for 2 or 3 bucks when they are on sale, which is almost always.

Like others have mentioned i would look for a meter so you can at least check to see if have some resistance across your new made coil.

If you have a provari (or a mod with built in protection) that works great too..... that is what i use to get my coils up and working correctly before they go on a mechanical mod.

The kick would give you some protection if you have one.....also a drop in fuse that are everywhere now.
Trust me if your new to making coils make sure to wear protective glasses also!
