Any chance of seeing a rebuildable atomizer head cap?

If you're interested, I should be putting together a few more within the next week or two. There are a few design tweaks I want to test. If you'd like, I'll PM you when I'm done and we can work something out. If anything, I'd be interested in getting feedback and thoughts on whether or not it's good enough to risk a production run.

PM me-please do..... I will give you good feedback....... If you build it they will come(buy)...........

I suspect that the heat transfers down the wick and it's the transferred heat that darkens the juice in the tank... More so than juice from the coil being wicked back down.

I dunno. (a) My carto tank never did it, and (b) my current Ody clone (silica wick) does. I've assumed it to be the charred remains of whatever was in the fluid that didn't make it into the vapor. After a dry burn and rinse, it takes a couple tank-fuls to start darkening the juice again.

I have to agree. I've found that it's a gunked coil that darkens the juice regardless of heat transfer (I speed-steep my juices in boiling water). I have to say that all of my cartomizer tanks have displayed the darkening phenomenon, which is why I stopped using them (they don't last very long). This is also why I will never refill my Term-C unless the juice is known to be exceptionally non-gunking (of which I have found none, apart from flavorless nicotine base).

That being said, a clean coil is the key to good vaping, especially for tanks. If you don't want to keep replacing coils, rinsing + dry-burning is a must.

I have only tried a few genesis builds, I did not like them. The part where the juice darkens worries me. Regardless if it is safe or not, I just don't get the flavor from genesis atomizers as I do from dripping. I am all about flavor. Flavor is key for me.

I know there has been a lot of hype and a lot of build up about this kayfun, but I am going to tell ya it is the first tank I have ever tried that I used more than a few hours. It is the first tank that I purchased, that I have actually purchased another, and it is the only tank I haven't tried to sell. I want 2 more kayfun's,, regardless if they are the lite, the clone, the mini, or if it is the standard.

No resistance wire needed. Some say that it is over engineered but I tell ya now, it works. It is an automatic bottom feeding dripper, if that makes sense. The coil doesn't sit in the juice, the juice flows up to the coil. So the tank is separate from the coil entirely. Coil is inside a chamber, the vacuum brings in the juice as you vape, some how some way without flooding, and some how some way without dry hits.

Reason I want to start pestering David, is because i kinda feel guilty. I feel guilty that all I have on my mind is getting more kayfuns. I hoped that if David would come out with his atty I could start trying to bombard him, but instead i am ready to send money to china. I hate china!!!!

I saw a pic of a Kayfun mini... Beautiful... If they could scale it down vertically to 1/2 it's height and allow for normal 510 drip tips, I'd be all over it.

Also, I wouldn't be afraid to buy more of them if you want them. From what I've seen in the classifieds, they have greater purchasing power than cold had cash. Even if David shows a prototype by the end of summer, I'd be very surprised if they were in customers hands in time to go under the Christmas tree. No need to be deprived while you wait. ;)

For all of you who need clarification...

Darkened juice occurs when juice boils at the coil and then flows back down the wick, into the tank. This happens from over wicking and chain vaping.

There is nothing wrong with dark juice. VAPE IT!

Also, if you truly want to minimize the gunk, this can be done by mixing your own juice and using NO SWEETENER!! Think about what happens to sugar when you apply heat. It gets dark and caramelizes!

Do we see a pattern here folks?

Do you believe carbonization is occurring as well as caramelization?

Absolutely! I would imagine that carbonization occurs a little bit during vaping but much more so when the wick gets dry and the caramelization burns into carbon/ash as you work your way to a dry burn.

I actually like unflavored too! Most juice I vape is very mild in flavor, which is one of the reasons I don't go lower ohms than 1.5. Any lower my flavor is entirely lost.

Now that Ive gotten use to this beast.....the 0.8 ohm coil works well on the Shockwave, you just have to cut your nicotine mg in half... Im still a 1.5 ohm kinda guy though @ 3.7 volts...

1.1 ohm at 4mg here.

4mg....? I would probely have to vape 5-6 ml a day to get satisfied.... With 30mg I only vape 2ml a day direct dripping...... And I do vape alot IMO......... Yes vaping is much healthier than smoking but long term effects are unknown as we are the first generation of MODDERS..... So I would rather vape less PG/VG into my lungs to get my nic fix....Thats why I have stayed with the high stuff all these years-30mg..
Everone is different though..................

I vape about 2 to 4 ml a day, just depends on the day, kinda same as smoking. The amount I vape hasn't changed over the course of 2 years. Only the mg I vape has. First year of vaping, I actually wasn't vaping enough, I was vaping like half to a ml at like 24 and 18mg. I was also still smoking. Once I got the darwin, I stopped smoking, and lowered my nic but increased my ml per day.

I let my body tell me when I need to drop my nic, I don't drop it till I start getting nic sick. Then i know it is time to start dropping my nic. I love to vape, and honestly I will still continue to vape for awhile when I hit 0mg. I love vaping.

Edit::

I also diy, and right now I have 10 years of nic at my current vape pace. I love diying, it allows me to adjust my liquids to my liking.

Jas, everyone is different. You can't compare yourself to anyone and say you are better or worse off compared to anyone. I have been vaping for 3 years now and I just recently dropped from 8mg to 4mg in the last month. What may work for me, may not for someone else and vise versa. You find what works for you, and stick to it. :)
