Susie..why if may ask? I am sure there is V.G. or glycerin in the P.G. cartos..for added vapor production. P.G. is good but does not provide the vapor that V.G. /glycerin does. But V.G. does not carry the flavor as well as P.G.
Before premium and Wow cartos and juice came along I always added a dash of Glycerin to my liquids.

I've wondered about the same, susieque. Why do some cartos produce more vapor? Must be a secret because no one here seems to know for sure.

MaryKay, it's really not bad at all being PG sensitive. As you probably know, I was fine with PG for nearly three months but then had to switch to VG due to zit probs. I've adjusted to it easily, and especially with the new VG prems on the way, life is still great post-PG. :2cool:

It would be pretty tough being sensitive to PG.

You also can't use basically any lotion or soap. No cakes, salad dressing, soft drinks, popcorn, fat-free foods, deodorant, ... It would be a pretty destructive way of life.

And, curiously, I'm not personally aware of any PG-free cigarettes - where'd you find those?

But, from what I understand, it could also be that a person is sensitive to inhaling something and not in other kind of usage. In my case, I didn't find out that I had a sensitivity to VG until I tried it and had a bad reaction.

Adrenalynn, are you having a seriously crabby day today? Your responses have been quite snotty today. It must be a seriously miserable existence to be so perfect and knowledgable as you.

If Jeffree found that he escaped the zit problem by using VG instead of PG/VG mix, and is still avoiding analogs, where do you come off being so snippy about HIS experience?

I'm just trying to understand, nothing more.

Not in the least, but thank you for you for inquiring!

In NO WAY can your response be construed as trying to understand. You were completely condescending towards him, and now towards me. There is no reason WHATSOEVER to take on such a mean tone with people, other than to prove your own superiority. Just step back, and live and let live, if you can't be somewhat civil.

The only incivility I'm seeing here is yours, Rou. You're out of line.

Ok, I'll put my voice in the thread, and short of locking it, allow to venture off in peace. Please don't feel the need to respond anybody.

The purpose of this subforum is:

1. To help the new user.
2. To support each other.
3. To ask questions or helpfully address them.
4. To have fun and develop a sense of cameraderie with each other.
5. To get through the rough patches of vaping, not smoking.

Just ask yourself, if your post doesn't fall under these 5 categories, perhaps it needs to be questioned if the post is valid in the first place.

Hey guys, I was surprised tonight to see some controversy related to my simple post, but I find it all more interesting than anything else. I visit here for fun (and for support some months back) and have no stake in winning anything. It's all good--or I wouldn't spend time here.

As someone whose job includes research at a university, I hate imprecise buzz words like "allergy," so I thought I was being more careful by using "sensitivity", which seems to fit what happened to me during the past five months. But whatever word I use, something in my body changed when I switched to VG. And I like it!

You decide. During my third month of vaping... I had a month's worth of zits, usually in clusters, mostly around my mouth and nose. I also noticed some very mild redness across my face, which I had originally attributed to better blood flow after quitting cigs. I hadn't had any skin probs even close to these during the past 25 years, so I suspected, with some confidence, that the cause was vaping related. After battling my initial worry (no more vaping?!), I decided to proceed systematically.

After a month of continuing zits--most small but a few whoppers--I switched to VG exclusively. I was careful to keep everything else as consistent as possible... same vaping style and quantities, same gentle facial cleansers, same water intake, same diet, etc. From about the third day onward, the zits began to subside. By the end of the second week, they were nearly gone. Now, more than a month of solo VG later, my face is virtually clear of zits and irritation. I've also noticed that my eyes, which felt dry when vaping PG, are normal again.

Obviously, something changed. The logical guess would be the switch from PG to VG, but I have no way to know for sure. I do know this: I no longer have skin probs when I vape VG, so I won't be returning to PG anytime soon. Maybe I'll try it again in a few months just for kicks after my body re-adjusts. Or maybe the zits will return after I use VG for another month or two and I'll have to go back and forth between PG and VG forever and ever. It's all a work in progress, and I'll know more in a year.

There are so many unknowns with vaping that its effects, even small ones like mine, are anybody's guess. All we can do is share our situations and learn from each other here. That's what I've tried to do in my related posts, knowing that I might reach a few others like me and encourage them to try VG as an option. I'd hate to see someone give up on the joys of vaping without some thoughtful experimentation. Dig? ;)

TY Born for putting a stop to that ugliness!!! I love those in defense of the underdog....AND ANY FELLOW FORUM USERS AND VAPERS!!!!!!!!!

I never thought that my extra zits may be from the PG....I thought it was the added stress of not smoking but I'm going to have to look into this!!! I started breaking out within 2 weeks of switching from analogs to vapor and still have them. I thought they were "stress" related because they are showing up in my "stress zit area." I only ever broke out on my jaw line in grad school so I know that's where my stress zits are and thats where I started breaking out when I switched to vaping. HUH???? I work for a school so before I try the VG I'll wait till I'm off for the summer to see if the "stress zits" go away. If not, I will have to try VG only to see if that's my problem.

Gee...is it possible that cigs don't cause zits and large quantities of PV may????? Seems like it may be true for some people. SHOCKING!!! LOL!!!

I'll keep you posted on my zit issue. LOVELY! LOL

Large quantities of PG can cause a reaction, if you do nothing about it.
I went through that myself.. Then I noticed the 'beginning' of a reaction, so I did something about it.

I started adding G to the juice, and stopped using superfluous amounts of shampoo and deodorant. Addrenalynn was right in that she pointed out that PG is in lots of places. I mean lots. PG has different names too, and the bathroom is full of it. The pantry and refrigerator is too, probably. I just don't bother to research. So anyway, I think when a body, anybody, is in deep PG to begin with, certain changes must be done in order to vape PG. For this reason I posted long ago, somewhere, that people should try a reduction in the other PGs throughout daily life, before having to assume a necessity to discontinue 100% of PG vaping. I am the only one who did so, apparently, and it worked, but everyone is still welcome to try that too.

Very COOL!!! So you are sensitive to PG, and you are still vaping PG but just cut down your PG in other parts of your life? This caused your sensitivity to go away? Is that what you are saying? If so, I up for trying that! That ROCKS!!! Thanks for the info!!
