For myself, I'm good with both PG and VG. I tend to like a blend. But if you were making a liquid that was 70/30 PG/VG, would you have a preference as to whether your nic juice is PG or VG base? Second question. To any of you who vape strictly VG, do you have any issue with flavorings that come in a PG base? Reactions of any kind, or is it pretty muted?

I use a lot of VG, Box Elder has 100mg/ml VG Base nic. It makes it easy to create 20/80 PG/VG witch is the way I like it. Unless I am using the new E2C R4 Cartomizers, IMO they need a very thin viscous juice to wick properly, then I go 80/20. I also picked up 6 bottles of 50/50 48mg/ml at the One Stop DIY store on sale, that is good to work with, not too thick not to thin and you have a lot room to go either way with your PG/VG mix.

Thanks
Jeff~

My base is 100% VG and I usually mix 50/50. I'm using the CE2 XL cartos and haven't had any wicking problems at all. I've been vaping like crazy the last couple of days, too. I don't mix more than 60%PG because it's too harsh for me. Testing flavors is kind of a challenge because I'll use straight PG and it makes me sneeze after a couple of hits on the test juice. It keeps things interesting, to say the least.

I had a terrible time the the 2.6 Ohm E-2CR4's drying up after a few puffs, shake, rattle, and Roll try again. I bought some 3 Ohm packs and they are better on my standard 510 and Ego batts. but I still have to use 70/30 mix to get them to wick properly. overall I do better with the Joye510 cartos and the EGO Megas as well. I've had the sneezing thing too. pretty funny :)
Thanks,
Jeff~

I love the 3 Ohm on my eGo and Riva batts! Can't wait to try them on a 5V PT. I think next to dripping, these babies just might be my "sweet spot." I usually get bored with the taste before they run out.

Kind of, sort of, but not really back on topic...I'm glad that I'm not the only who sneezes when testing and finds it entertaining rather than alarming.

My precise preferred ratio of PG/VG is 67.5% PG, 27.5% VG and 5% water, which gives great taste, great vapour, and great wicking.

I arrived at those numbers by mixing FA Traditional 36 down to 18, and adding 10% VG because with plain PG the result was too thin. By now, I mix every strenght to exactly those levels, I even made a calculator that tells me exactly how to mix it.

VG is the way to go! I just wish VG wasn't so gloppy :( Always have to soak the bottle in really hot water before I work with it. It seems like half of the measured amount stays in the pipette.

Mauzey,

If you make a big bottle of "stock", you can use tablespoons to measure and the VG doesn't stick to that. I make 60 ml of 15 mg juice every couple weeks and that takes 1 Tbs of 60 mg nic juice and 3 tbs of VG. A tablespoon is 15 ml by the way:)

Are there any sort of pipette things that are better for VG though? I have 250ml 100mg PG on the way and need to deck out the rest of a kit. I think I will make some sort of stock to get that down to like 50mg, but I don't know what PG/VG ratio I like yet. I was thinking to get graduated cylinders... that would give you a good measure and just put excess VG back I guess.

Finely graduated cylinders are absolutely great to work with, although VG does of course stick a bit to those, as well. I just put the cylinder with the open end on top of the bottle, and the other end somewhat higher onto whatever is available, and wait.

Putting VG for a few seconds into the microwave works great, too.

I use almost 100% VG, with the only PG being that in the flavor. I thin with distilled water, 5-20% depending on what I feel like (thinner for cartos, thicker for dripping). PG in flavoring in general does not bother me, but only if I keep the flavor to about 10% or less. More than that and I'm having dry-mouth/throat.
