Is it the nicotine that's keeping me awake?

I'm going 3 weeks now with no analogs and it wasn't until I read this thread that I put 2 and 2 together. I've been having such trouble sleeping lately, and last night I was so tired that my eyes were burning. I fell asleep early (around 8pm) on the couch but woke up to my wife opening a door. I realized that I needed to fill some of my cartos for the next day. Of course, while filling and mixing, I'm vaping at the same time. I ended up staying up till 3am.

I started with 18 mg and brought it down to 12 mg.

After reading this thread, I'm gonna stop vaping so late, or mix up some weaker juice for late night vaping.

...at least now I know what to do if I need to stay awake at night to finish a project!

nicotine, neuro-pharmacologically,

nicotine plugs into dopamine receptors in your brain's reward centers - nucleus accumbens, ventral striatum region, Ventral tegmental area, etc... so indirectly this dopamine agonist, among other neuro-cascade effects, and 2nd messenger effects, triggers your norepinephrine and epinephrine release, triggering stimulating fight or flight reflexes, thus keeping you awake
