I tried vaping to quit smoking a year ago with a V2 cig kit and failed. When I decided to get an ego twist this august (2 1/2 months ago), it started basically as another attempt, but it actually stuck this time. I found that the increased freedom to tinker and experiment with different cartos/clearos/tanks and flavors kept my interest, tasted good, and gave me a secondary hobby. I did a lot of reading and researching after receiving my twist batteries and that hasn't changed to this day.

In all this reading I find myself wondering if/when I should upgrade. I know the minute I do I'll probably read of something else that peaks my interest and probably commence an inner-debate again, but for now I've been looking at the provari and the REO VV Woodvil. The provari interests me because of its multiple functions, and the REO for it's looks and apparent convenience. I'm pretty big on getting good consistent flavor and I'm between not minding and kinda liking tinkering with all this stuff. I was wondering if anyone had any words or opinions about whether upgrading will noticeably improve flavor (or any other aspect of vaping for that matter), or if there might be a case to just stick with the ego twist. Or if someone recommends some other mod I'll look into it if I haven't heard of it to increase my options pool.

if it's working for you, i would stick to what you have. there is always going to be something better coming out, but you can get caught up in this and spend a lot of money to create new headaches. i prefer to keep my vaping simple. i have a couple of good batteries, and a good delivery system. i'm not smoking analogs, and am feeling good about finding new flavors i like. if it works, don't fix it! waiting for the provari owners to flame me, but it's all good! :vapor:

Yeah keeping it simple definitely helps to stay off analogs. But I figure once you learn something it will eventually become simple, especially with general experience and research on the matter. Unless it's just an actually pain in the ...., which I'm hoping to get helped with that :p

And yeah I hope this doesn't turn into a provari thread, but I think it'll be easy to weed out the one-liners: "Provari all the way!"

this is still a "new" industry. if i were to seel you the latest and greatest today, next week, the "new" latest and greatest would be in your face. just like a computer or tv. chill with what you have if it's working, then jump in when you think it's not good enough. :toast:

You could upgrade your battery device orrrrr......since you seem to be liking the tinkering aspect ,you could fool around with rebuildable atomizers and rebuildable atomizer tanks. Opens up a whole new vaping experience. When your twists start to die , that would be a good time to consider an upgrade.

Haha. What I meant mostly was since one liners aren't very helpful I probably just won't pay much attention to them. Funny though.

On a side note, Provaris put out the actual voltage you set it at even under load. Not sure about the Reo's.

Check out PBusardo on youtube, he does a technical review of the provari and it's very informative.

was gonna hit the "like " button your post, titanium, but there isn't one. swear!
It's back. Oh you definately need to upgrade.I recommend a vv Gripper and smoktech vivi. You can build your own coils, jack up the AMPs and vape the shiznipples out of it. Go check out rebuildables thread time for you to move along.

I hear the Reo is a nice product, and someday I would like to get one, but I have a Provari so my answer will be biased.

I moved up from Blu, V2, to Provari. It's well worth the money, and will open up other things to get like RBA's. It's an easy way to test the coils you made.

Just about anyone who owns a Provari will tell you its worth it, but you have to decide on that yourself.

The Provari is certainly worth the money I eventually got one myself. I wish I would have just started there in the first place. I went thru Blu's, Mistics, Egos then ego twists and then the provari, I guess at least I have back ups LOL. Its made in the usa and comes with a 1year warranty and the option to purchase an additional year. And also even if its out of warranty its still easy to get fixed since its all usa made with the exception of a couple electronic components on the board these were just not made anywhere in the us. I have also now moved on to RBA's I have a ZAP(Z-Atty Pro By Zenesis) A Did Clone and have been rebuilding Vivi Nova heads. Never thought I would like the tinkering aspect provided by these types of things but I love it, I have also moved into DIY Just a couple of weeks ago.

I just think of all the money I spend on disposables and cartos over the months and also the mall kiosk incident before I decided to look it up online. I could have bought 3 or 4 provari's for what I spent on all that LOL. Oh well most people end up going thru the steps anyway. My suggestion would be if you feel its time to move on then go for it if you can afford to do so.

Although I love my provari my next APV is going to be something from the line of Zenesis a fully mechanical mod Im thinking a sidewinder.
The provari is nice with its features such as being able to check battery voltage and Atty Ohms but since I have learned a lot more I just want something simple... No matter what happens with the industry Batteries Mesh and Kanthal will all still be available because these are used in other industries not just E-cig related things. So a fully mechanical mod will be nice to have also.
