Welcome.

It's hard to say for sure, as a lot of vapers keep the first few cigarettes of the day as the last ones they quit.

I vape (after getting up and downstairs) virtually non-stop for about 10-15 minutes. I could get stronger liquid but once past the initial start of the day, it's easy.

I would say a strong liquid is better and more satisfying than gum. Of course. :)

Hi vapours

First time here.

My crave is first thing in the morning, I'm currently on gums and I am wondering whether to try E-cigs or not. Does it get you to whine off the crave?
I was a smoker for 22 years, I tried the gum, the patch and 2 different pills, none of them worked for me, February 1st I will be 1 year smoke free because of vaping :)

Hello & welcome @James Slough :)

I used to be a very heavy smoker (averaged 50 day  ) until I bought my first e-cig. I cut down drastically straight away, but have to admit it took me a while to give up the last 2 a day, but I got there in the end & I'll never regret buying that first e-cig kit - far from it :)

It worked for me. It wasn't a walk in the park (I had cravings for about a month) but it was easier than any of the other times I quit.

The only way to know if it will work for you is to try it. Make sure you get some good equipment and try to find a flavor of juice you like. Go to a B&M (vape shop) and see what they have. Some will let you sample juices.

I bought an ecig (MVP v1) for use during a vacation. Hadn't ever tried to stop during my 53 yrs of smoking. My first vape was the the beginning of 29 mos. so far of strickly vaping. Didn't realize I'd stopped smoking until 3 days in........A bit slow, but, hey, this was not planned! :)

I learned something from one observation on why the switch is hard. It's obvious that other things are thrown into the mix of cigarettes. If it was just nicotine switching would be seamless.

I'm not sure seamless but a lot easier for sure . There is no doubt in my mind that real cigarettes have some other extremely addicting substances in them though.

Smoked for 30+ years, vaping works. It is however replacing one addiction for another, but one that is not guaranteed to kill you horribly.

To me vaping is only an addiction in the beginning when your attempting to beat real cigs , not speaking for everyone but for me it turned out that way .

Reason i see it this way is because i never crave to vape and can go without it and have . I actually vape these days to keep from getting bored but the cravings are gone , it's really amazing .

It's a big reason why i am not stockpiling stuff because all that would do is guarantee that i continue vaping . I could actually give it up without a problem and plan to when i eventually run out of nic etc...

Vaping is very exciting for the first year or so but after that it's not nearly as captivating imo.

Hi, I smoked for 40 years 1 1/2 packs a day. My son who was 26 quit smoking and started vaping cold turkey. He smoked for about 7 years. He gave me a box mod he made and some carto tanks and asked to just try to quit. I tried in and I thought I looked like a fool walking around puffing on a box. Then it dawned on me after a few days of vaping I was not coughing up stuff in the morning. My friends and coworkers told me I smelt better and I felt better that was it no more analogs. That was in Jan 2012.
