Worked for me. Started vaping and never had another cigarette. Took a little time to find the kind of eliquid I liked and I eventually upgraded from my little stick kit to a better battery and tank. Early on, more concentrated nic was good, but now it's 0 or 3mg nicotine for me.

I don't smell bad, my mouth feels clean, I can breathe deeply, don't cough and can do things like take a walk in the woods without having to stop or feel pain in my left arm. I may never give up vaping because part of my addiction to cigarettes was the 'habit' of it. Get up, light up, have coffee...etc.

Though I agree with another poster who says it's possible to NOT vape for a while and not miss it much, too. I've done so myself. For me it's like a security blanket. Can't imagine ever wanting a stinky stick again.

To me vaping is only an addiction in the beginning when your attempting to beat real cigs , not speaking for everyone but for me it turned out that way.

I'm glad that you are in this position. Myself, if I was deprived of my vape for more than a few hours things would get really nasty. I would surmise that most people would be the same.

Hi vapours

First time here.

My crave is first thing in the morning, I'm currently on gums and I am wondering whether to try E-cigs or not. Does it get you to whine off the crave?

In other words, yes. Inhaling, breathing out - very similar to smoking in that respect. Keep it with you, hit it when you want it.

Worked for me. Smoker of ~45 years or so, the last years ~2 packs a day. Have not had a cigarette since July 2, 2013. Lovin' it, lovin' it!

Had some cravings at first, off and on, for maybe 6 months, then a few after that. Just kept on vaping. Once in a great long while, I wonder what it would be like, but that's not really a craving, just a fleeting thought. And I absolutely despise the smell of smoke now, so I'm not tempted to try one.

Welcome and good luck!

You are on the wrong forum if you are lookin to be talked OUT of a purchase haha. There are many different types of ecigs, if you do end up trying dont get discouraged if you dont find a device/ejuice you like right away. Luckily there are rather inexpensive options, lots of them actually.

Personally yes it helped me quit and stay quit. I dont really even feel the need to vape anymore, other than recreationally. (No nicotine)

I have had friends who are heavy smokers and tried vaping but ended up still going back to the analogs. Their mods and tanks just kinda takes a backseat and they leave it untouched because they prefer smoking analogs. What they usually tell me is that vaping couldn't compare to the feeling of analogs. I think at the end of the day, you gotta keep at it, try to find different ways which can make vaping work for you. It definitely isn't something that can happen overnight, making the switch to vaping entirely, but as long as you're determined to, I'm sure it will all fall into place eventually.

Hi vapours

First time here.

My crave is first thing in the morning, I'm currently on gums and I am wondering whether to try E-cigs or not. Does it get you to whine off the crave?

Heres my story, the quick version

I just spent my first christmas (since i was 10) in 35 years, without a cigarette. Im only a month and a bit off being smoke free for a year. It goes quickly!

I tried literally everything, including hypnotherapy to quit.

Last February, after looking into vaping again (i first looked into it about 3 years ago, but not a lot of research around) and doing research for 4 months, i bought my mod and tank locally, ordered some nicotine from the USA. It all arrived on the same day. Mixed up my juice, whacked it in the tank, pressed the button and never smoked again. This was the same experience my mate had when he saw how easy it was for me and converted a couple of months later. Both of us were champion smokers, could have smoked for Australia. We do though realise that its not as easy for everyone. But its worth a try. He rings me up every couple of weeks to thank me for gettign him off the smokes and to tell me he cant beleive how much money hes saved. I keep telling him he should buy me a new Stratocaster to show his appreciation :)

Bottom line, is you can only try, i never imagined not smoking in my lifetime. I started to feel better in a matter of weeks and the biggest thing ive enjoyed is simply being able to breathe again. I used to fear lung volume tests at medical check ups :)

Personally i now find i dont get up through the night, as i used ot when i smoked, to have a toot as i dont feel the same level of craving as i did when i smoked, i can go hours without even touching my vape gear, and i get a lot more done. I have about half or even less the amount of nicotine in my body, but it works for me. I used to absolutely crave in the mornings , now i dont wake up just to have a smoke/vape.

Start off with getting some more basic knowledge, read some posts, get a basic but good bit of kit and try it. One thing that will help is posting here if you struggle, vapers are very supportive and will do their best to keep you on the path if you choose to go down it.

I smoke for 45 years and was a heavy smoker that inhaled pipes and cigars. try gums, patches, pills and nothing worked. been vaping and tobacco free for a little over a year. started vaping last christmas and have not smoked since then. it helped me quit and a lot of others too.it does not work for everyone but it is the most effective smoking cessation tool available. my cravings stopped after the first month

Vaping worked for me almost instantly. I smoked over a pack a day for OVER 40 years. Within three days of getting my first e-cig, I was off cigarettes. I've been a non-smoker now for five years and six months and I have absolutely NO cravings whatsoever. You couldn't pay me to smoke a cigarette now.

Hello and welcome to the forums @James Slough !!!! 28 year smoker here @ 1.5-2 packs a day. I started out doing dual use of vaping and analogs. Most of the time I just puffed on my ecig after work when there was really no stress to be had. I continued like that for about a month. I started then trying to cut my reg smokes little by little through out the day. I usually had 2 smokes during morning break, replaced that with 1/2 of smoke, vape and then other half. During lunch, I usually had 3. Replaced that with 1 smoke then vape then second with the normal of mainly vaping after work. As time went on, I noticed the more I vaped, the more I did not like to smoke as it started to taste awful. I actually made it to where I started to only have 1 before work, normally 3 and then 1/2 during break and the other half (smoke)at lunch. Before I knew it, I was only having 1 in the morning and one at night before bed. I then continued to have those and tried my hand at no smoking during the weekend and I actually made it. After I made that switch, the next thing I knew I was having only 1/2 smoke in morning and the rest at night. Then one day, after 3 and a half months, I finally quit smoking cigarettes. The morning smoke was my hardest one. Never looked back and have been cig free for a year and 2 months now.

To make another long story short, my dad on the other hand never intended to quit smoking. He was a 2-3+ pack a day smoker of 57 years. I turned him on to vaping unflavored so he could vape in the hotel rooms when they traveled a lot. Without even trying he is now down to less than 1 cig a day by doing it the same way I did. It will eventually get you there if you want it to. IT DOES WORK!!!! Give it a try. I have Faith in you!!!

yes probably....
vaping is primarily a smoking replacement. However after 1 year of vaping I am down to around 3mg nic and do not crave vaping like I did smoking. I have no plans to quit vaping but I think it would be much easier than quitting cigs without having vaping as a replacement.
Vaping is over 90% safer than smoking according to experts.
And MUCH more enjoyable. Right tasty even.

Vaping helped what was the biggest hurdle when I tried quitting several times over the years....the depression when I stopped smoking. I felt a loss, what with the no hand to mouth and rituals thing goin' on. With vaping, I got to do all of that. There's more than enough vapor for me to mimic smoking, and I found a perfect flavor for me (I never cared much for the taste of tobacco, cared more about menthol). I also went out to the garage to smoke....don't have to do that anymore. And this forum is awesome.

I just LOVE looking at everyone's pictures and stuff. I don't even make coils or anything, but love the hobby aspect of vaping. Smoking sure wasn't fun....just something to do because I felt I HAD to because of being hooked. This is kinda fun! And tastes good. And smells good. And I don't cough anymore. Oh, and it's CHEAP if you want it to be. I make my own liquid, and my disposable coils in my Nautilus last me a long time. I'm WAY past breaking even, even with all the dumb purchases I made along the way over the year and a half since quitting smoking!

Lol, me neither, i cant even stand the smell of them, i cant walk behind a smoker down the street, i have to get in front of them or stop and wait for them to move off!

Its weird after 35 years of smoking to now hate them
