Is it true that you only get about 5-10 drags per cart??

You can get cartomizers for 510's (including the eGo, Riva, and other brands) OR for the kr808d-1 brands.

A cartomizer is a cart with a build in atomizer, they hold about twice as much e-liquid but the best part is that because the atomizer is built in they actually use the e-liquid instead of trying to get only the liquid on top to wick up into the atomizer somehow. When I used them, I usually would fill up 5-6 of them at night and just take them with me in the morning. No more topping off, just switch out the used up cartomizer with a fresh one and keep going.

My old carts would go about an hour at most of medium-heavy vaping on a fill (7-8 drops), but I've since moved on to the eGo Tank system.

I go 3-4 hours of medium-heavy vaping on a tank with the eGo-T. I would highly recommend this setup to anyone who wants to try vaping and have it work for them.

Since I went to the tank, I'll never go back to attys/carts or cartomizers again.

Price is a little more than, say, a 510 starter kit, but it is most definitely worth it.

i'm such a noob, i don't even know, lol...but from what i've from what i've read online so far (which isn't nearly enough), that seems to be about average. i want like 50-100! ok, that's probably not realistic...but what is?

Sketchy e-cig retailers will tell you that you get "300 mouthfulls" per cart. It's a total crock that they made up in order to sell their product. When I started with my 510, I would get 10 drags before having to top off. I modded my cart with blue foam (super-easy) and then I got about 15 drags.

Then I started dripping, because I figured why mess with the carts if I still have to top off all day anyway? Dripping was good, but didn't resolve the problem of trying to make this easy.

That's when I started using cartomizers and just switching them out -- fwiw, I found that the flavor was stronger with cartos too. The problem with cartos is that if you aren't careful (I'm not) then it's pretty easy to singe the filler that's inside them. You really need to be able to taste when it's time to switch them out, I can't but a lot of people do.

So since I keep burning the cartomizers, I bought the eGo-T (tank system) and some clearomizers (cartomizers without any filler in them). So far I'm liking the flavor on the clearomizers the best -- nice strong flavor and the routine is the same as when I used cartomizers; fill them up at night and switch them out during the day. Both the tank system and the clearomizers are really convenient and easy to use and require a lot less fiddling around.

It's really a thing that you just have to experiment with until you find what works for you. Plenty of people are still just as happy with carts or with dripping... it's just not for me.

I fianlly just got tired of dealing with them and went to dripping. I have started using the cartomizers and like those.
Clearomizer I love because you can see inside but, depending on the liquid you use, there is the tube cracking problem.
This is easily solved with using a syringe tube to replace it---takes about five minutes and once you done it, it last a long time, if not forever. And once the device itself gives out, you can reuse the tube on others.
Check out the links on Clearomizers found here.

There's a co-op going for these.

Of all the cartos I've tried, the ones that last the longest are the eGO XL's. They hold 2 mls of liquid. I also like the tank, but it goes through liquid pretty fast (although is SOOOO easy to fill), and Boge cartos. The tank and Boge both hold about 1 ml. Both are a lot more than 5-10 drags. LOL

However, to use them you'd be better off with a larger pv...like an eGO, Riva, vGo, etc. at a minimum. You can always go bigger too! :)

I am still using carts on my M401's tiny carts (but with blue foam stuffing - still using the same 1st cart). I am using cartomizers on my other two PVs - KR808D-1 which is a cartomizer unit with a decent selection of prefilled cartos and some types of blanks, and 510 which can use atty+cart or has a variety of blank cartos and some filled ones available). I got a week out of a carto by topping it off whenever the vapor let up (didn't want to singe the stuffing since that would ruin it)

Shizzle - superminis and carts won't cut it if you want more drags. You need to get a model with options like cartomizers, for example a Joye 510. Not much bigger than a supermini - almost as slim as a cig. LiteCigUSA.net is one place that sells them (maybe blank only with blue LED - you may be able to find white elsewhere). And they sell the cartomizers I use
510 Blank Cartomizers
FreedomSmokeUSA has white manual 510 kits as well as black ones (and lots of juices)
FreedomSmokeUSA

You can also get a mega atty for it and mega carts which hold more juice but the problem with carts is the top need to be wet. Blue foam stuffing can help a 510 cart wick the jucie better (strictlyejuice.com has precut blue foam stuffing for standard 510 carts). But getting more drags than that needs a cartomizer (and a cartomizer might last a week or more, maybe longer with cleaning - not forever like a cart). Or you can step up to a fatter battery model Ego (which is 510 based) and use the tanks.

510+cartomizer is enough for me. With standard batteries the battery life is still short like a supermni (180mah or maybe 1.5-3 hours, maybe less if you vape constantly). You can get a PCC and charge one battery in your pocket while using the other. They also have longer "510 mega" batteries and longer PCC (the longer batteries last 1.5 times as long and make the 510 a 130mm unit with the cartomizers I linked above)

Get manual batteries. Manual 510 batteries are sealed on the threaded end so safe from getting killed by juice leaks, And manuals are actually less work and give a more consistent drag.

I found that that like cartomizers best right now. I started out with a KR808 from VFL with cartos, but ran out of carts while I was on a mission. That caused me to purchase a 510 and some juice. I found that the 510 with the juice was good on vapor but short on taste and throat hit. So I boiled my old cartos and filled them with the juice I bought and that seems to working pretty well. Whenever vapor production falls off or the taste gets weak, I just pop off the top and drip a couple of drops and then everything is good again.

I think I will probably wind up purchasing the Tornado E-Tank from Totally Wicked as now most of my friends and colleagues are used to seeing me with these wierd electronic cigarette things.
