OK so I started with kr808 cigalikes, moved on to larger 808's. Then to ego styles, then VV still ego styles. Not 2 months ago I'm swearing the praises of iTaste VV VW and Aspire Clearos how wonderful and perfect I find the combo. I keep wondering though can it be better?

I keep going back to Pro vape website and checking out the provari... I always had concerns with the external battery and overheating/failure issues but it can't be that common or that much different than the batteries in ego types can it? Then there is the price tag... steep. But could it be worth it. Could it be as good as they say?

So that's my question in your opinion is a provari worth the price? Would that be too much of a jump? Please help.

Financially worth it? For me, yes. I was happy with ego twists several months ago. Wanted a provari, but the cost, ya know? Figured I would reward myself with one at my 1 yr anniversary. I had 3 of the 1000mah batteries and used up about 2.5 every day. So they all got charged every day, and they are supposed to take 300 charges before failing. So I figured I would have them for 10 months or maybe a little longer.

After about 3 months, I noticed a significant difference in power when they were half-discharged, and had to keep turning the voltage up. Not a big deal. But at 4 months, I noticed a significant drop in how they were lasting after a full charge.

So I figured I would buy 3 more to last me until my 1 year anniversayr. But when I thought about it, I added it up - 3 twists at $30ea every four months. That is $270 a year.

So I bought a provari instead.

Going from an eGo style to a Provari? That's not the way it's done.. you have to go through several hundred dollars worth of other stuff and proclaim that they are just as good before you finally cave and buy a provari

But seriously.. only you can decide that. I went through the above scenario and found that yes, it IS worth it to me. Any problems you may encounter, Provape will fix for free during the first year and for a very reasonable price after the that.

I totally agree with all the above....I don't think you will get too many comments around here that it's not worth the money but as DonnaH stated, only you can determine that...I have no regrets!! After the first, there was a second, then a third, then a ........well you get the picture!! Best wishes with whatever you decide!

And here we go again ..... lol I am sorry, but there are a lot of threads in this forum asking the exact same question; which ultimately, only you can answer.

Sorry Dragline, but once you feel the need to ask "The Question", you might as well go ahead and get one. It'll just keep gnawing at your innards till you do.

Both of these posts I quoted hit home, once you start asking about or looking at the ProVari you are bitten, and only you can decide if it is worth it for you.

I see your join date is Jan 2011, so I am going to guess you are in this for the long term, in which case the ProVari will end up being a cost effective and wise investment. If you plan on vaping for only a few months, you might be better served with something like Egos, however the cost of replacing those over the years will add up.

To me it is worth it, I can't fault any of the VV/VW devices I have, I can say the ProVari is the best I have tried.

It is worth every penny. It does every thing it does extremely well and will for a long time. It be be missing a feature, bell, whistle or gimmick that some people are looking for in a device. It does everything that I need for it to do.
It does have it's short comings. It does not make breakfast or cookies.

Most of us Provari owners have more than just one. I have three, two standard and a mini.

Why is that?

Because although the Provari is one of the most dependable, reliable, and durable mods made, we couldn't imagine being without it should it need to be sent in to Provape for repair (even though it only takes a week for it to be repaired and returned).

We all have other mods for backups, but if they aren't a Provari they're just not the same.

Until you've held one, vaped one, and owned one, you couldn't understand.

As far as your battery question goes; it's almost the same exact battery used in the Provari as they use in the eGos, you just get to choose the quality and replace them rather than the whole thing. The biggest reasons for battery failure in the e-cig world is either batteries being charged when they can't or won't be monitored, or improper use. Charging while you're asleep, throwing them in a pocket or purse with loose metal objects, or stacking them in a mechanical mod can be dangerous. As long as you monitor while charging, check the charge amount after they're done, and use well made, authentic batteries like AWs plus a quality charger, you shouldn't have a problem.

Look at it this way. If you don't destroy or lose it, it is has value. I own a mini and decided I needed to have a version v2 mini to add to my collection of stuff. The cheapest I could find one used with some serious searching was $100 plus shipping
It is on its way.
I have 3 mechanicals and two kicks to use in them.
My provari works great and is easy to set for any topper I have.
If I could only keep one it would be a provari.

Yes, it's worth the price. I had to think of it this way……...if you smoked a pack a day at $5.00/pack (that's low in some places), then that would be $150 a month, roughly. Even with the purchase of batteries and a charger to set you up initially, you would recover the price of one Provari in less than 2 months and that one APV would last you years. OR you could keep spending money on cheaper mods (like I did) which ends up being more costly than if you would have just bought the Provari in the first place. I think in the long run, you will be very glad you bit the bullet and went for it!

I went from eGo to ProVari. I was going to wait until my 1 year anniversary but cheated at 4 months. It was my only vape for 12 months until this past Xmas, when I bought a mech. I love my mech to bits but my ProVari is still my go to device. Only you can decide if the price works for you but if you look at the math others have thrown around you will see that it isn't really too bad, even when compared to the "cheap" mech mods.

A good friend and I started vaping at the same time. We both went through the cig-a-likes and moved up to the larger ego-style batteries. I went down the 808 road myself, and on to the 808 spinners - then to a VAMO. The VAMO didn't last long at all and the spinners all wimp out way before they claim to.

I bought my first ProVari several months ago and a 2nd shortly after that. My friend continues to buy spinners of various makes and capacities. He sees the advantages, but stops short of purchasing the ProVari (he'll need a good charger, too). I already had a good charger for my flashlights, but even so, I have spent much less on vaping hardware than he has.

And you already know by now that very few VV devices vape as smoothly as ProVari's 800Hz buck/boost circuit.
