Actually, all coloured Joye eGos have a rubber coating. Only the steel ones do not.

Janty is the company that developed the eGo, and Joye produces them. However, you can buy eGos with your own branding (as long as you take 500 and more), as many companies do. Except the logo they all look the same, though, although only TW sells 1000mAh eGos, as far as I know.

As for non-eGos being better or worse ... well, that's a matter of debate. I've started a poll, maybe it will even produce some results ;)

Personally, while I think the Riva button looks good, I find it unpleasant to use. And I can't stand the golden design. T-Rex looks cool, but there were many reports of very early defects. The vGo is not compatible with the charger or the cone. And that's just three of many. I'll stick to the eGo for the time being. Good quality, obviously compatible with all the eGo-stuff, and not that much more expensive, either, if at all.

I believe you are wrong on this.
I have green and blue egos from Liberty Flights and they do not have a rubber coating. I also bought a green Spare Battery for Joye eGo 650mah for Good Prophets - it has a metallic non rubber coating.

ImYourSalt and Abe associate at Liberty Flights has posted many times that the carry Joye egos.

ImYourSalt explains the different colors of Joye egos they carry as follows:

"Black, Pink, White, and Red are all that rubberized finish! Steel, Green, and Blue are metallic, and the Titanium is almost like a matte finish (eggshell?)... It looks more like the rubberized finish, but is smoother to the touch. :

That's funny, because I have coloured eGos here (definitely eGos, too, from more than one vendor) which do have a rubbery finish. And not just that, I had other colours in my hand, and they had a rubber finish, too. The purple one may have had very little of it, but then, I may remember that one wrong. (I didn't exactly hold it for long :O)

I know most of these companies are buying in bulk off the main suppliers and re-branding, but I also see the 'main' suppliers selling each other's products under a different name, e.g dse are selliing egos too. Are they just junking
the copyrights as a tactic ? I don't what's going on there, is there some sort of wiki on where these compaines stand?
