Is my Mini okay?

Hi Folks,

I have a nagging worry about the well-being of my Mini. While the spring is not completely collapsed, it does shrink down to where my battery does not fire. I gently pull the spring up with a pair of tweezers. The top and bottom two coils are shiny metal, while the middle two coils are darker.

Yes, once the spring has collapsed....the heat has tempered it and it won't collapse a second time if a short occurs. If another short occurs and the spring doesn't collapse, dropping the battery from the connection, damage to the switch/button, firing pin, and your battery can occur.

Yes, it has had a short. If it happens again, the spring may not collapse, causing damage to your REO. Plus, it would be good to send it to Rob so he can see why it happened, and fix it to be sure it doesn't happen again.
