I have a joyetech ego-c which works great. My brother bought a knock off not knowing it was a knock off. It just says "ego-c" on the battery. Funny thing is I like the way his hits a lot better than mine. If I ever lost mine I would definitely get the one he got.

They operate at different voltages. (reference below to post # 2 in this thread)

Does it work? If so, don't worry about it.

"Real" Joye eGo batteries are voltage regulated to 3.4 volts while many of the others (Riva, KGO, etc.) are not so they come off the charger at 4.2 volts and drain down from there. I use KGOs myself and my son has Rivas and they've been working fine for months. To me, a "knock-off" is a cheap imitation that doesn't work, not just a competing product from a different manufacturer. As far as vendors, stay with the ECF registered vendors and you'll be fine. I've used nearly a dozen different vendors so far and got good service from all...

For the difference in price, today, I would recommend the Joye Twist rather than a Joye eGo because you can select the voltage that hits best for you and enjoy that voltage from beginning to end rather than the low 3.4 volts regulated Joye eGo or the knock off that operates at steadily lower voltage as you vape. Consistent vaping voltage was once an expensive option, now it's available for a few bucks more. Enjoy it!
