Got the Smoktech SID VV/VW in the shopping cart, hoping it has the same features as the Vamo-Vivi.

I was looking at those 2+ weeks ago. I believe they're 4 amps and Vamo is 5 amps. I also chose not to buy it because the Menu navigation is single button= a lot more button pushing to scroll through the menu. I'm surprised there aren't many reviews seeing as it's been out a few weeks.

That, the std batteries, is one of my primary reasons for moving to a PV (not sure if the nomenclature is correct, but I think you know what I mean) from an eGo... The absolute best life I've gotten out of any eGo battery I've had (and I've had a bunch) is about 3 1/2 months... Now, granted, I vape a 'lot', but still -- 3 1/2 months?

So a few weeks ago I made the move and got a Vamo for myself and a mini-Lavatube for the wife since it's much lighter in weight and a bit smaller overall than the Vamo which she didn't care for... Now I've got standardized batteries that are far less expensive than the eGos and will, I hope, last a bit longer... But, if not, what's a replacement cost of around $3-$4 @ as opposed to $18-$20?

Also have a V8 Gripper coming and 2 mech mods -- all using the same batts... Simplicity is Golden... :)

Joyetech eGo batteries?
I've got my 2 original Joyetech eGo batteries still going over a year, non-Upgrade. I don't know when I got the Upgrade batteries and the Twist, after my original kit it gets confusing, but I'd say they're easily going over 6 months. I have 4 eGo-Cs set up but only 2 are my main daily vapes, the 2 that include the original batteries. They have lost a lot of their runtime (compared to new which I just bought) but they still work. I did get 1000mah, perhaps if I had got 650mah I would be so dissatisfied with the run time I'd declare them dead.
My original PT Upgrade is about in the same shape but I found out keeping it topped up isn't as good on lithiums as claimed so part of that is on my own ignorance.

I just ordered a Vamo. 1000mah eGo can last me 18 hours of heavy newly quit chain vaping when new. I'm hoping 18650's go twice that. As far as how long they survive I'd guess something in your eGo circuitry died, not the actual batteries.

Can't really even tell that way. You think the Chinese are concerned about US copyright laws, especially for things sold in their country.

Yet you don't see them passing a Samsung phone off as an iPhone. Wonder why. And they do have to follow certain US laws if they want to import to the US.

As far as putting eGo on a battery, eGo is not a brand, it is a style. So any battery that fits that style, can be called an eGo. I have KGO brand eGo batteries.

What are the basic differences on the Vamos n01 and n02 settings? I dont really understand even though he tried to explain in that review.

In AVG/ N01 mode you are not getting full voltage all the time. If set to 3.2 volts you are getting 6.4 volts for half the time, and 0 volts for half the time. The average of 6.4+0=6.4 volts is 3.2 volts. The switch between 6.4 and 0 volts is very quick - too quick to notice. BUT it makes a difference to the taste. So, set your Vamo to RMS/ N02 and alter the wattage in .5 increments and see where that takes you.
In others words in N02 mode the voltage is more consistent and accurate. In N01 mode there are peaks and valleys voltage wise.

I'm a heavy vaper and use both the Efest 18650 and the two Efest 18350. I get a little better run time out of the two 18350's. I will generally get about 12 - 13 hours on a charge. I've read that you can't get the full 15 watts unless you are using the two 18350's. I don't vape that high so it doesn't make a difference to me.

I see, I see. Much easier to understand when you explained it haha. Thanks

Does anyone know if the Smoktech SID VV/VW also has the RMS/N02 feature, i think that is really a neat thing. After seeing the youtube links posted here (thanks) I understand how it works.

Healthcabin isn't shipping again until June 3rd, so I have time to decide. They have this item which looks like the vamo but it has a different name. Is it the same? http://www.healthcabin.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1202_1203&products_id=8190

I'll get a cartomizer and a viva nova clearo, never tried a carto before so might as well give one a go.

That's just another name for the Vamo, so it should be the same.
