Hey guys. Not new to vaping but "semi-new" to rebuildable hardware and things like that. Basically, what I have is a KangerTech eVod VV, with a Protank 2 and a pink drip tip (among other Aspire tanks and other drip tips and batts). Picture is attached. Now, I know once you get into building attys and such, or making a Nintendo game controller into a vaporizer or building bottom feeders that you're hardcore 'modding' your vape...but..

Since I just have this, is it still considered a 'mod' since I've customized my drip tips, can switch tanks, etc? Sorry, like I said the terminology sometimes confuses me and I learn a ton more as I go but love actual feedback and not just reading it on an informational site. Also, if not called a mod, what is my actual vaporizer called? A PV? or an APV? Thanks everyone! Stay steady vaping!:2cool:

(Can't post pics cause I'm new... using a Black KangerTech EVOD V V (1600 mAh) with a KT Protank 2, and a custom pink drip tip

Is it appropriate to call it a "rig"? Idk why, that's what I like to call it haha. Do people even call them that sometimes?

I do sometimes when I run into another vaper I have asked them what kind of rig is that? You may get a funny look if they're a vape purist or something but most of the time they don't even think twice before answering.

Hey mate! If I missed you the 1st go around, welcome!

Popsecret & Yosemite have steered you right. Not long ago, ecigs were akin to things like the current disposables. Some enterprising and courageous folk were dissatisfied, and started modifying flashlights and other things to get the current and vape they were after. They called them "mods" for short (one of 'em whose name escapes me coined it in a video) because that's really all there was. "Tube mod," "Box mod," , and of course the harrowing "Elbow Macaroni mod."

As things got fancier and batteries became regulated with microchips other names came up, like "APV" (advanced personal vaporizer). People use them, but mod is just a sticky name for a beefier battery than a cigalike. It probably shouldn't be applied to things like egos, where they should just be called batteries, but even knowing that I still do it half the time.
