I think you'd do fine with a Provari if you only want a solid VV device. I don't know what you screw onto your devices but that's also something to consider. I love VW and there are some solid options on the market with more on the way. My guess is that most APVs will have the VW option by this time next year. The Evolve DNA20d is looking very cool and I can't wait to see what folks do with them. The Russian chipset is also very cool and with a US distributor now we should see more of those.

Good times when its a hard choice.

It has been a year since I purchased a V1 Chrome. Was it expensive? At the time I believed so but today I reckon it was a bargain for me. Why? Simple….
Before the Provari, I could easily spend 100€ per month in search of a battery that would satisfy me. It has been a year since I bought my last one, so in my case the math is an easy one.
Nevertheless, the strongest point in my humble opinion is the customer service.

Here you can read what has happened to me recently, surely my fault but nevertheless, a great service. And this a year after having purchased it.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/apv-discussion/364041-my-provari-why-sigh.html

It is what it is. If you care about VW, do not buy one. If you’re not comfortable with a one button menu, do not buy one. If you think it is too expensive, by all means do not buy one. If you think it is ugly and no colour suits you, why to even consider it?

I really don’t get what is the issue here. I do not see many threads like the ones you see around here questioning about “why should I buy a Vamo? Or whatever”.
It seems that people feel the urge to find whatever reason suits them not to purchase one.

I believe nobody is forcing you to buy anything and regarding the fanboys and provari haters… just ignore them, I know I do because I have nothing to prove or justify to no one else.

Personally I bought it because of customer service and durability /sturdiness.
What I love about it. The ability to always get exactly what I set it for.
Do I have any complaints? Of course. I believe the electronics should be better protected (sealed) and maybe a “click” system instead of using glue or whatever to make it steady on the tube.

It is simple, does what I set it to and never misfire.

Are there any other options in the market that match it or are better? Yes, I believe so.
Will those companies swear for their products in case of problems? From what I read… unfortunately I believe not!

That reason alone led me to purchase a mini V2 as a “backup” in case of any problem with the other unit.

Just my opinion and thank you for reading.

I was going to make the pro my first pv but at 1/5th of the cost, I purchased a Vamo I can buy about 4 or 5 Vamos too one Pro. Also, the Vamo has a nice simple interface. Again, I would have a Provari if not for the Vamo. Time will tell about the durability but it sure seems like a well built rig. Not knocking the Provari or it's owners.

I don't blame you, about a year ago I started looking for my first VV mod. Looked at the Darwin, ProVari, and others. The LavaTube had just been released and for ~$80 you could get the mod, 2 AW IMR batts, charger, 2 3.5ml DCT tanks, and 10ml of juice. Ya it was kind of crappy, the top came loose after a few months, the plastic batt cap cover came off a few months later, but I dropped it more times than I could count and it just kept working. Had I not lost it I would still be using it. I replaced it with one of the LT v1.5t's and that one died the first time it fell on the kitchen floor. It was at that point my trust shaken by the durability of the low dollar mods, and I bought my ProVari.

Last week I was in a B&M and picked up a Bolt so if anything happens with my ProV I'll have a more substantial back up than my eGo batts. I also ordered a Vamo a couple days ago just to see what the hype is about, I hope it is electronically durable like my v1 LT with better build quality. For the price I couldn't help but give it a try, it cost less than a Kick and an extension for the Bolt for crying out loud, heck I think it may have been cheaper than my Bolt with one extension.

Yes, I understand the draw towards the Vamo!

Just as an FYI Provape broke the news that a new V2.5 would be coming out shortly:

Provari does not need to come out with a more powerful unit; really what is the point? They are more than powerful enough as is.

Next version will, should, include a VW option.

should provape ever come out with a VW option ?? [doubtful] they will dominate the other half of the vapin market, with the exception of those that just can't afford a 159 dollar mod

Simple question for those who may be in the know.

I'm impressed with the features on some of these newer competitor models like the eVic or zMax.

Should I seriously look into both the eVic and zMax when I cross shop the ProVari? Right now I'm sold on a ProVari Mini after I start working again.

Yes... Provari

VW would be a great addition indeed. As much as I used to love the 1 button operation, I'm kind of hoping they're going to upgrade that as well and integrate an additional 2 for easier and quicker voltage/wattage changes.

More moving parts equal more failure. Just saying that wont likely happen unless they stray from the basic design principles and why should they?

I own a couple eGo batteries, a Sigelei Zmax, a VAMO, and overall, I wish I had just bought one Provari instead. Had to pull both APVs apart to realign crooked screen and sort of fix a button issue on the Sigelei also. I'd rather have the quality of the Provari.

VW is a nice convenience but not really necessary. You can easily calculate watts and volts with your phones calculator app if you really care. You soon memorize what volts equals what watts on the resistance atomizers you typically use anyway.
