Is the eGo-T really maddeningly terrible?

im gonna have to give this a few more tries before i give up. gonna have to look for a different ecig (and might end up doing analogs until then). inhaling this dry atomizer vapor is not a good thing for my body.

If you aren't getting much vapor, along with the dry-wick taste, your wick may be too high in the spike. If you take something small, and push the wick down a little bit (you don't have to take the needleplate out for this) it may help-- the wick needs to make contact with the coil. If you push it down too far, though, you'll start flooding, so adjust a little at a time. If you youtube 'ego-t wick adjustment' there's this nice lady from notcigs who goes through how it works, and how to do the adjustment. She uses a big model of the thing for the 3 min demo, which is nice.

Indeed, Vicki does a pretty good demonstration of how to do this :)

thanks. i already checked out that video.

i'm getting plenty of vapor though but with plasticky taste.

i'm tempted to go get some analogs... it would be much easier that way. i'm getting withdrawal symptoms, and i'm getting irritated at how a product like this doesn't work right out of the box.

Most of the time they do. I really don't know what is going on with yours :(

maybe i need to pull the wick up? not even sure to be honest...

does anyone have a recommendation for an ecig that doesn't require tons of mods, doesn't leak, has decent flavor and a good throat hit? i don't want to have to study/research everything about my ecig (like it seems the ego-t requires)..

heh. You should go get cartos. There are plenty that fit right on the eGo (510 threaded) system. I'd go to the forum suppliers page, sort by location, and order from someone close to you-- It's not the end of the world, but nobody should have to go back to smokes, for any reason, really.

That's what makes the eGo system good to start: versatility. The tank technology isn't flawless, that's for sure. I don't know what carto to recommend, 'cause I haven't tried them. I'm sure if you post something, you'll get tons of recommendations, though! Since you already have the batts, you don't need to buy another full kit (unless you want to!)

Don't give up though!

thanks, but what would i do with the old atomizers? it'd be like me buying a defective product. i should get a refund on it, imo.

i wonder if i could get a refund? i mean, if i buy something, it should be working as intended right out of the box..

argh, what a horrible product. i'm getting too pissy, and i need some analogs to calm me down. i hoe i don't get stuck with this junk of a product.

For the first 6 weeks I had my ego-t, everything worked great using the same atty and tank I started with. Then that atty gunked up and the draw got impossible (and yes, I had been cleaning it all the while), so I figured, fine, time for a new atty and tank. Then I started getting leaks, kept putting new attys and tanks on and each one started leaking after a week. The last atty and tank let loose only 12 hours after I put it in. I knew I was "done" with the atty/tank system after that.

Got some Echo-E cartomizers, they arrived yesterday, and if they don't leak like everyone swears they don't, this is what I'll be using on my Ego batteries from now on. So far, taste is stronger as well with no increase in throat hit (I'm not a throat hit fan). So far, so good.

So I'll "echo" what others have said, get yourself some cartomizers that'll fit your batteries. And you can still use your tanks/attys from time to time, to, say, taste test a new liquid. The tank system seems much better for that to me, than filling up an entire cartomizer. I haven't been vaping long, but I've already gotten some flavors that I hated and that went into the garbage after a few puffs!

And by the way, I've seen Vicky from Cignot's videos and while they are very informative, I'm not the kind of person who wants to have to do "surgery" in order to vape. I just want to put my liquid in and go.

Good luck to you!

I'm much happier with my 510-T than I was with the eGo-T. I've been cleaning my 510-T attys with an isopropyl alcohol soak, and let dry for a couple days, and have gotten more life out of them than my e-Go T attys.

I do have 1 eGo T atty hanging around, I might pick up some strong (cheap) reading glasses and some type of tool to do the cleaning that Vicky from Cignot demo'd, but yeah... you have to be able to fiddle with the attys to keep them running.

Yea, I also like the 510-t much better. I have a mod now but I had been using the ego-t for months. The 510-t doesn't require any fiddling :D

FWIW, I've been using the eGo-T atties since late January. My original type A atties from TW are still alive and well, but I much prefer the type B (standard resistance). I use the eGo-t on 3.7v; the taste and vapor are better on 3.7v than on the 3.2-3.4v of my eGos.

I use 510-T atties on eGos, Rivas and mega manual 510 batteries--I love them and I found bigger non-Joye tanks that hold 0.8ml (as opposed to Joye's 0.5ml).

I never had to tinker with any of them. I know I was lucky, but I also suspect that folks maybe tinker too much? I never had a leak or any malfunction.

I don't clean them too much; I just vape a tank of unflavored (PG, VG, or combo) once in awhile untill the juice in the tank runs clear. When they need cleaning, I run boiling distilled water through them, then soak them in vodka, dry, dry burn, rinse with vodka one more time and I'm good to go.

YMMV, of course. :)

I disliked the Ego-T greatly. It drained all the flavor out of my juice.. it leaked all the time, and had a terribly tight draw... after just a little while using it I would actually get tired of the struggle and not bother to vape. The only 2 redeeming qualities I found were that it was small, and that a standard 510 cartomizer fit on it.
