If you read a little more carefully you will see that the headlines are sensationalized or if they happen to give you an honest story it was from misuse or abuse of batteries in many cases. Use you device according to the directions and you should be safe. Wish I could help more but I do not own an iJust but many eLeaf products!

The vast majority of the rare but dramatic battery failures you've likely read or have seen videos of occur in mods quite unlike what you bought. Follow the manufacturers safety instructions and don't abuse it and it is highly unlikely to ever cause a newsworthy event.

In fact it's probably even safer, especially for a new user, as there's no replaceable battery to deal with as well, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I will recommend that you turn your device OFF (usually 5 clicks for on or off) if you put it into a pocket, purse, or bag. If left "on", the fire button could be inadvertantly pressed continuously, which could cause the battery to over-heat and explode.

That would be "user error". See this recent post: Smok V8 Baby

Don't leave your battery device in a hot car in the summer. Common sense stuff.

As said already, 99% of mod explosions are user error. Most of those are with mechanical mods, and most of those are direct battery (faux hybrid) mech mods.

If you treat it with the same care that you would any other battery device (think, cellphone) it should be fine. That means: no extreme temperatures, for vaping especially TURN OFF if not in use, and observe care when charging which really means keep an eye on it and to be extra safe, don't charge overnight, you should be fine.

They type of "intense" battery failures you see are most often seen in mods without protections (mechanical mods) and/or during cloud chasing competitions, OR if someone doesn't USE safety protections (like LOCKING the mod while carrying it so it doesn't repeatedly fire, etc.) If you follow basic safety guidelines you will be fine. But, it's good that you are asking and wanting to be cautious. :) Welcome to vaping.

So long as you don't mistreat it, it's no more dangerous than a cell phone (which use the same type of batteries and have been known to cause problems when mistreated.) Bad's advice to turn it off when pocketing is sound. Otherwise, don't worry about it too much. Most of the "vape explosions" you hear about are, as has been said, user error. They also tend to involve either mechanical mods-- one of which your iJust isn't-- or a charged battery carried loosely in the pocket with coins or keys to short them out. Welcome to the board.

Everything you hear about "exploding vapes" is probably false, media love spreading fake information without doing research first, all they see is the "scoop" they can get from that story.

ANY and ALL vape explosion were user error nothing more nothing less, yes it's sad but a mod that's regulated(basically the ones with more than 1 button) have enough things to keep you safe.
