Is the GG AVS not made to vape at 7.4v?

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong here, but I'm on my third GG 901 7.0 Volt iAtty . The first one t brought about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I put it in my GG, filled up the AFS tank to the threads. Started vaping and it died after about 3 hours, When I placed another order a week later, I mentioned it to the folks at V.K. what happened and that I was vaping it on a full tank e-liquid on when it died. I was told "The HV atties are just like regular atties. If you let them get dry they will burn up. We had to stop warranting them because so many people were burning them up just from lack of experience. I have several here that I've used for quite a while.." Well that’s cool, So I figured I'd give it another try and placed an order for 2 more a few days ago and received them this afternoon. Put one in with a full tank of gas in the AFS. Great TH's, tons of vapor. But, then, after about 2 hrs, I noticed the vapor was getting weaker and weaker with each inhale, and after about 10 more inhales, with the vapor production in steady decline, nothing. So it wasn't like it just died and stopped. I'm now on my 2'nd iAtty (3'rd if you count in the frist one i brought 3 weeks ago) and we'll see how long this one lasts. I thought these are supposed to be designed to work optimally at 7.2v or 7.4v. Well at least with my experience with them they haven't. I have had no problems at all with the IkenVape HV 901 5.2 atty that I've been using the last 3 weeks.. I've got nothing against the folks at V.K. they do a great job over there. But..... Either the GG with the AFS is not made to vape at 7-7.4v, or there is something wrong with the last two GG 901 7.0 Volt iAtty I have purchased. Going over 4 hrs now with my last iAtty. So far so good. I love my GG AFS, by the way. Holds plenty e-juice, no button to push to feed juice into the atty. Just a one button push (power) mod to vape all day and into the night. No leaks either.....

I think they are the same as the 17340's but limited to 3V. I have some CR2's for 3V and although they are ok the jump to the 3.2V batts I linked above is pretty impressive. I do understand once you've gone higher (7.2-7.4) it's hard to come back though :)

But 6.4V seems ideal to me for Heavy vapers, good vape, taste etc and not the Atty issues at higher volts. Still need to get the atty damn wet at the start though.

urbanite,
When your atty's die, do they just stop at once, or is it a slow drop off in vapor production at around 15 inhales? I was going fairly strong for a good five minutes before it started to drop off. I can say that i'm certian that the atty wasn't dry when this happened this afternoon. But what you say does make sense.

usually what happens is that I notice a small decrease in vapour... then there is the last hit which tastes burnt and usually after that one the atty just dies, when I check with multimeter it usually has some ridiculously high resistance reading.

I have been staying away from the 7.4v configuration though, even 3-4 days is a bit too quick for my funds... so I've been going for a week on 6v with one atty so far...

Thanks urbanite,
That sounds like pretty much what happen. I'm with ya on the the 3-4 day life of a VHV atty. lol I wish I had gotten that long on mine and not just a few hours on my last 2. After this one dies I'm going back to the IkenVape HV 901 5.2 atty, which is good for 5-6v. The one I took out and replaced it with the iatty was going strong for at least a week. It should stiil be fine when I put it back in. Looks like i'm finished with the XHV attys for now. But I will give IkenVape a try when he gets some back on his site. He's the man when it comes to atomizers in my book.
So you live in Moscow, Russia? If so. Too cool.....

The bad thing with atomizers is that they made in China my friend tunnel, so maybe Iken took a good batch by lack and I took tghe bad one. That happens all the time with China.
Dont forget that I first invent HV atties and all other people follow just by ordering from China, they did nothing more:)

6.4v is a good compromise, I love 7.4v but it just drinks the juice too fast lol, the 6.4v is still thirsty but no where near 7.4v.
