hi everyone. I'm brand new to this forum and figured I'd join it to get info that I really can't get elsewhere. My question is about the Izi rta by boost lab. Does anyone own it? I'm wondering if it is pocket friendly, and if it will be alright if it's put on its side while in my pocket throughout the day while I'm sitting down. I'm deciding between this and Le Zephyr

Hi and welcome!

I don't own one either, but from what I've seen and read, it seems like a pretty good RTA.

Regarding your question, I believe that any RTA/MOD is relatively safe inside pockets ... as long as it's not a mechanical mod.

But for the Izi, it looks like the filling holes in the chamber cap might be a cause for leaks if the RTA is laid on it's side for too long.

Thanks @Elvensilvan that's exactly what I'm worried about. I wouldn't be so not picky about all these details, but I'd like to take it out and about to make it worth my while ☀️

Anything which holds "liquid" has the potential to leak. With a rebuildable drip atomizer, just don't over fill it with e-liquid and it shouldn't leak while on its side.

What battery device will you be using? My main concern is the fire button, if you plan to transport your mod in your pocket. A mod with a protruding fire button might accidentally fire in a pocket or purse, which could lead to overdischarging a battery and sending it into thermal runaway. A recessed fire button would be much more safe in a pocket or purse. Alternately, remove either the battery or the juice attachment while in your pocket. This would prevent any accident of a runaway battery.

Hi ernieball,

Just thought I'd chime in since I actually have one of these.

I just filled it for the first time tonight with a 50/50 blend e-liquid and can say that I probably wouldn't trust this RTA to be laid on it's side. I tried turning it over just to see how much of a problem it would be and liquid immediately started draining

It might not be an issue with a thicker liquid.

thats a nice looking mini-genie style RTA and that price...

There are really 2 types of RTAs that I personally would not carry in my pocket (shirt pocket diff story). Genesis style ones (chances of the top deck coming off because its held in place by rubber o-rings bother me enough). And "RDTA" style tanks where the coil sits directly behind the side airflow holes (I find these to be wetter tanks than RTAs with coils sitting above).
