I just ordered my kit from V4L and it's on the way ^^ What I'm wondering is "what exactly did I order"? I mean model size and if it's possible to get carts from other brands and such. There has been things about "501s" and "808s" and whatnot but for the life of me, I cannot figure out what a V4L shorty would be.

My next question has to do with the little rubber ends that come on these sort of things. Is there a reason to have them on the cart when it's attached to the battery, clearly not in use? Does it help keep them from dehydrating while it bounces in your pocket? or does it just keep the pocket lint out.

Lastly, if a analog smoke is 8mg, why would someone buy a 18mg cart/solution while switching over? I purchased mine at 4mg (analog-malb ultra lt 100) because I think i'll be vaping more often until the newness wears off.

I'd love to hear comments, questions, and opinions about this. I'm sure more questions will come up and thank you in advance.

Hello and welcome to ecf. First carts and cartos are two different things. Carts fit into atomizers(heating element) and holds ejuice. Cartos(cartomizers) are a combo of the atomizer and cart in one unit. The rubber things(I think this is what you mean) cap off the cartomizers to keep the juice from getting out and into your mouth and clothing etc.
The ecig juice comes in varied different nic strenghts. Depending on what level of nic you need(determined by you) you can order your cartomizers(pre-filled) or in bottles.
Hope this helps.
:)

edit
also nic strenght listed on a pack of analogs are not really comparible to nic in ejuice because with analogs you get a direct hit of nic. With ecigs the nic is in the juice and is around 40% less...so in other words---you will vape more unless you up the nic level in the ecig juice.

First of all, the V4L batteries are 808s.
I have a big tuppeware container filled with the condom caps. If you can think of a good use for them, please, please, pass it along.
The nicotine number is the amount of nicotine per ml. So if you have a bottle of juice at 20mg nic and you fill 20 cartos with it, each carto will have approx 1mg of nicotine. If you assume each carto is the equivalent to 10 cigs (these numbers are so varying depending on the person) then you can say each "cig" you vap has .1 mg of nicotine. You do need to understand though, that with vaping, you do not actually absorb as much nicotine as you do with analogs. The research is still pretty vague, and ranges from 10 to 40% from all I have seen, but it is definitely less. The 4mg juice you ordered might not satisfy those cravings for you. It might, but It might not be a bad idea to order some stronger stuff just in case.
If I misspoke anything, someone please correct me. I think I confused myself when putting this together.

From what you are saying, it sounds like you got an kr808. If you are talking about the rubber caps on the ends of the cartomizers, I think they are good for keeping out contaminants and keeping the fluid inside fresh. I don't remember for sure but I don't think there is 8mg of nicotine in an analog. I would have to go back and read Dvap's blogs to check for sure. The difference is that the absorption rate is different between vaping and cigarettes. Also, most cigarette manufacturers use other chemicals to help freebase the nicotine so the satisfaction is almost instant. Also, there are some whole tobacco alkaloids in real tobacco that are not in the liquids we vape. I smoked about 1.5 packs a day and now vape 24-36mg liquids and also use swedish snus. I will go look at Dvap's stuff and if I find what I mentioned then I'll come back and post a link.

The kits at vapor4life are KR808D-1.

The rubber cap will keep the juice inside from drying out and keep your pocket lint off of it too.

An analog is usually about 1mg ABSORBED per cig (depending on your brand, up to about 3mg per cig). Most vapers use 24mg. 4mg IS EXTREMELY LOW and will be similar to not having nicotine at all. We only absorb between 10%-40% of the nicotine that we inhale. I highly, highly recommend that you go online right this moment and get some 18mg and some 24mg.

    Good luck!

V4L has 3 different lengths of batteries shorty, regular, mega. The longer batteries last longer between charges. They are model KR808. There are other places to get cartomizers but I think they are usually blank so you can fill them yourself with your fav juice. The rubber end is also called a condom (haha) and I always put on the mouthpeice to keep it clean and also when I refilled cartos to keep any juice from leaking in my case or pocket. I used the 4mg but found that 6 or 8mg was closer to my preference. Some people are able to use a high mg, others cannot. You just need to try a few mg's till you find one that fits for YOU. If you use a auto battery(no button) be very careful and do not overfill your cartos they will leak into your battery and quit working. If you unscrew the battery from the carto when you are not using it if your battery goes off it will not burn your carto up and waste your juice. There are plenty of great threads on this site to learn all about the model your getting. Have fun and good luck.

Thank you all so much for answering my questions! I should get a stronger strength then... if only in juice form for top offs.

@tornadosiren, you gave a very good explanation of what is exactly going on. :) I've seen threads about using those caps to extract using -someone's name that begins with a T- method and using them to fill Cartos.

@Sugar_and_Spice, yup, cartos >.< sorry, still learning lingos.

@Rosa, your explanation of the mg was great too. I think I will bump up to a 18 or 24 then bump down.

My goal is to quit smoking but without losing the comforting "pacifier" effect. I don't want the nicotine by 6 months from now. My family is aware that I "don't want to quit smoking" but I think vapors are a good negotiation, even if they are 0mg.

KR8080D-1 which is the most popular, supported and recommended 2 piece ecig

That is the 2-piece model threading new kinds of blank cartomizers and accessories support, that the most atomizer adapters are made for, etc.

Re blanks - you can use any standard resistance cartomizers for KR808D-1 (the LR low resistance cartos are only for use on fat-battery models like PigCig)

I started on shorties then switched to standard length for the longer battery charge life.
shorty = 180mah (for me, 2-3 hours of light to moderate vaping)
standard = 280mah (for me 3-5 hours of light top moderate vaping)
xl - 380mah (and these do not fit in the PCC)

Re pacifier - that's my goal too. I started at 18mg and after 2 months dropped to 12mg and soon will be dropping to 6mg.

I recommend not running your cartos dry because you could singe them and ruin the flavor for refilling. Add liquid whenever the vapor seems light or a bit dry and it can't be revived by holding the ecig carto down for 5 seconds. Take the carto off the battery when you add liquid. Pop the soft-cap out with an unbent small paper clip stuck in just far enough to pop out the cap. I hold a tissue on the threaded end. Hold the carto angled and drip into the stuffing. When done clean up the threaded end and blow into it with the opened end pointed down into the tissue to clear the air channel of juice. And sop up and loose juice sitting above the stuffing. This is especially important if you got auto batteries which can be more easily killed by a juice drip from a carto.

@doormouse, You gave a lot of great info!! I have ordered a shorty manual but was wondering if the regulars would fit. Specifically I got the PCC kit and a spare bat (manual) from the clearance area. I heard that the manual gave better vapers and were less likely to mess up while filling - like you mentioned.

So far, I've ordered 3 packs of Cartos and no juice (decided to wait on that and suffer for it) because I have no idea what I will like enough to buy a bottle of. All the packs I purchased were samplers... so maybe after a flavor or two, I'll play with the juices. Till then, analogs are gunna support the "addiction" problem due to the weight of mg I ordered. I thought about a higher mg as recommended above... but then it dawned on me "which one" and that just cannot be answered right now till ~something~ is found that is tasty and worth a whole bottle. Money is tight so I cannot get 3-4 bottles of juice without knowing for sure if they will be used.

If it helps you with the strength issue...
I was smoking Cheyenne mini cigars which had a pretty good hit to them. Pack to a pack and a half a day.
My first batch of cartos are 24mg. Depending on which math you use, some say a loaded carto is equal to a half pack some say a pack, I can make a carto last a solid 24 hours before refilling.
I don't know if it is because I'm getting more nic or just not the other crap that an analog has.
I plan to drop down in strength with my next order in an effort to be nic free some day.

I was thinking all these very same things, so great questions. I smoked about a pack of analog Marlborough light hundreds every 2-3 days, and when stressed 1 pack a day. I determined 18 ml was the right amount, from reading the article on their website. I ordered the 555 cool (although I like the nutty flavor, the throat kick was killing me). They threw in white chocolate (wow), chocolate peppermint (cool and my fav thus far!), chocolate (cool), dark chocolate raspberry (cool and for some reason the juice kept coming up when I was puffing it). I thought this was a Wow issue. I also received a sample of tequila (wow), piña colada (cool), and mango (wow).

I would like to try some coffee, fruit, and the infamous waffles. In my next order, I will probably lower it to 11 ml. and perhaps throw a juice of the chocolate peppermint, although I prefer the convenience of the carts prefilled. My throat is bothering me a bit, but that could be due to the fact, that was I chain smoking analogs, before my order came, and that my allergies kicked in. This morning, my throat feels rough. I want to not smoke or vape a while, just to get rid of the scratchy feeling, but I doubt I will be able to do that, since my nicotine and caffeine cravings are kicking in right now!

I hope you receive your goodies today!

LOL I hear ya on the cravings :D The delivery thing on the website looks like it will come today - it ays the mail man has it... let this not be the day he drops off a package at the wrong house! We have several streets that share house numbers around here (who was the brill that thought that up? o_O) so sometimes the right -house number- gets things... but the wrong street. We've all learned this so I know to check with the others if I don't get it by the time the lil white truck comes.

Also, what you're experiencing seems to be withdraw symptoms. Though I missed the milligram post before I ordered, I did find this http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

-dances and chants- I have my kit~ I have my kit~ LOL

Everything is here, and everything works. Even have a few sample cartos which makes me smile :) Two working batteries and a pcc, some business cards too.

I didn't specify LED tip but my black has a blue tip, my lavender has a pink tip. Since I'm a girl, that's ok but boys might want to specify ICof pink. :p
