Hey everyone sorry I made this a thread  I just couldn't find it after looking for it everywhere. I love this entire site it's amazing! However I do find myself wondering alot how to check for replies to my posts. I didn't know if there was a way to see "soandso" replied to your "blankedyblank" post, or even replies to your own forum. Sometimes I forget I have a post from a while back until someone likes it, and it pops up in my notifications at the top of the screen. :p

-Any advice to make this a little easier would be awesome, not that it's a big deal in the slightest. Any advice on anything that makes navigating the site would be appreciated for that matter, there's probably alot that I'm not seeing.

-Cheers my dears! :toast:

I subscribe to the thread. Go to "thread tools" drop down & you have the option to subscribe there.

If you're looking for replies to a thread you haven't subscribed to you can go to your profile & look at your activity & it will show you the posts you've made. You can click on one of those posts which will take you to that thread & you can subscribe once there.

You can just set it in your profile to subscribe when you post -- and I thought that was the default. You can also subscribe to any thread as mentioned above.

Under quick links on the bar in the top section that starts with "What's New" is a drop down menu called "Quick Links". A link to "Your subscriptions" is listed there.

Subscribing sure makes finding things again so much easier. :)

Subscribing can be a little awkward, particularly if you post in a lot of threads.

I do check my "likes" (and also "like" any post I respond to, even if I don't really like it just to alert the poster).

But you can also look at your posts (in your profile) and just browse from those to see if someone responded; usually if nobody responds within a page or 2 the likelihood of a response gets small. (By the same token, if I was interested enough in the thread in the first place to post, I usually want to read up on what's happened since).

It would be really great if ECF added a section to your profile of "quotes" so that you could see if someone quoted something you said (which would usually be something you want to read.....)

I had the same thought my friend, it'd be awesome to set it up just like Facebook where everything is on your notifications: "so-and-so commented on your post" , "JohnSmith quoted your post" , or even "umteen people have posted in your thread/subscribed thread". I wonder if that's something I could suggest to the owners/moderators of the site, although I have a feeling it'd be really hard/take up alot of server.

-P.S. liked your post so you would notice :2cool:

the "Quick Links" menu.
"My Thread"

Any of your former threads that you started that have a reply that you have not read will be highlighted

The easiest way is to just click on your name where it says "Welcome" at the top of the page. All of your posts and replies will be listed there. You can scroll down and check in on any you want. If you click on "More" it will take you to the point in the thread where you replied. Works for me!!

Pretty sure Baditude subs everything.. That's why the server gets slow now and then.. It's his notifications jamming it all up.

Another way to keep track of threads you have participated in: under the 'What's New' tab, the first selection is 'My Posts'. Open that and if someone has posted after you've posted, the thread will show up in Bold. No new posts, no bold but the thread will still be there in the list. :)

+100 for this...it has really helped me.

That's what I do. Can't help feeling a bit self obsessive when I check "My Posts" several times a day (hour?), tho :D
